    Default Vision On A Mission

To: The Moderators--I used the political forum because it is the moist active.

I would like us all to assist Vision on a Mission on as bigzack called it TTONLINE FUND for Vision on a Mission.

This organisation is doing tremendous work in rehabilitation and re-admission of convicted persons back into the Trinidad society and thereby contributing to the reduction in Crime.

I have no idea how we can structure contributions so anyone can suggest a means. I would really like this to materialise and it does not require anyone to say how much they contributing--any amount will do.

I believe that this is a laudable effort that should be supported. I hope that TTONLINE agrees and will support this effort.

Your participation would be most welcome.

I am fully on board with this effort Shield.

I met Mr.Chance by chance two years ago.

We didn't talk much, but I admire where he came from, and what he is doing.

Chance and Ian Alleyne is mih two heroes in Trinidad.

And a couple of years ago, I almost found myself pursuing this Chance fellow. I had perhaps thirty or forty jobs for construction labourers that I was keen to give as a step on the legitimate ladder to ex cons. Twice I had appointemnts set up with Chance to go to his office in SJ and discuss ways to make this happen. Twice the clown did not show up after I had driven over from DM to meet him.

In my book he did them more harm than good.

    Good idea, crap implementation.

In my opinion, Chance is "a work in progress".

He appears to be willing to take advice, adjust accordingly, and learn from his mistakes.

With positive notoriety comes a deep sense of responsibility.

I believe that the Wayne Chance of two years ago, is not the same Wayne Chance today.

    I doubt it.

He served 8 years in jail for Robbery.

But he has since turned his life around.

I know that Margaret Sampson Brown and other top class police officers are active in his Vision and Mission program.

Their opinion of Mr.Chance is good enough for me.

I doh hah tuh listen tuh some bloviating, bulletin board clown that has an opinion on, and knows about, every blasted thing.

I heard him talk abt how he ended up in prison. And heard police talk abt him being in prison.
I heard the talks he give to schools.

I believe he does take constructive criticism and he does try.

    Committed? To what? An institution?

Let me explain something basic to you. This is a discussion forum. Not a place for begging. A political discussion forum. If somebody want people to give them money, let them contact people privately and ask. Once you come on a discussion forum, you will get discussion. People's views.

Why allyou hate to hear people's views so?

Move this blasted thread somewhere else if you don't want a political take on this.

There is a political issue here. It's about doing something positive about people who see little else but a life of crime for them.
It is about rehabilitation, or perhaps habilitation, as opposed to punishment.

It is about the policy of allowing a ghetto to develop because it brings cheap labour, meanwhile it breeds a cycle of uncivilised junglemania.

Glad you brought that up Edyle. Because I see a lot more political issues in this.

The man have ex-cons working and he controlling their money - on the excuse that they will buy gold teeth with they money instead of furniture. Now I want to know what wrong with people buying gold teeth with THEIR OWN wages. Who is to decide what is the best way to spend what you sweat for?

Nex thing them ex-con have to rob to get money to buy gold teeth.

    .

Maybe they can form a co-op. Or a sort of half way house for ex-cons seeking to legitimately better themselves.
