yes
Yes we should be holding on to the $$ we have saved.
"""most goverment cutting back on jobs in the public service"" Except in the US the federal gov't to keep face on providing jobs has hired THOUSANDS! They have not learned that it is the private business is what provides growth.

Yes the world is heading to recession and more war.
We should be strengthening the local economy and independence.
The Dow Jones is on the way back down again; 2 US aircraft carriers are in the area around the Persian Gulf along with some Israeli warships; aid flotilla's are on the way to Gaza heading to confront the Israeli blockade and the Israelis are tempted to start a war with Iran to throw the spotlight off that confrontaion.
The world has to get back to production; real economy, not financial shuffling; and back to technological inovation.

Never mind recession, it should be Depression. Latest news is that some government workers in broke California are now on MINIMUM Wage,
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100702/...t_minimum_wage
46 of the 50 US States are broke. The Federal government has 13.5 trillon dollars debt.
Many European nations are under the water.
And those bankers that were bailed out would be begging again for more handout.

Sly, if you had a private business and people are not buying your products because they had no money, would you be hiring? Even if you had the most brilliant product in the world and paople can't afford it, would you be hiring?
How would you feel if the govt started hiring and these people started buying your products when they got paid?
In the past a good old war would have the arms manufacturers hiring. And all their suppliers. And all the transport companies and caterers for the troops and the manufacturers of other goods as those employees started spending...........

"When I give food to the poor they call me a saint, When I ask why the poor have no food, they call me a communist" Dom Helga Camara
The US economy really picked up after the WW2 because most of the industries in Europe and Japan had been destroyed and the US revved up their home manufacturing to supply the world.
In the last few years all the stimulus money the government had put in to the system does not seem to be working. More stimulus again? Hole getting deeper?
why is the german economy booming
http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisf...fashioned-boom
Well, somebody once asked Angela Merkel what was the reason for Germany's success . She replied "We still make things".
Germany's exports are about the same as China's. Germany has 82 million people and China 1.3 BILLION.

And much less corruption in the German government.
Amid the economic wreckage that surrounds us, sometimes all you can do is
laugh. In fact, I was nearly crying with laughter while watching
"Quantitative Easing Explained," a devastating (but very funny) YouTube
video cartoon smack down of the Federal Reserve and its dangerously misguided
efforts to get the economy moving again.
