This government really have their priorities all wrong, couldn't they utilized that money better to provide Water, Roads, Health Care etc.?

Since the two towers, referred to as the International Financial Centre towers, were formerly opened in 2008, one was partially occupied by the Ministry of Energy, which occupies five floors-Levels 22 to 26.

It is expected that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will occupy similar space as the energy ministry.

The other tower earmarked specifically for the IFC remains unoccupied.

Corporate communications manager of the Foreign Affairs Ministry, Lisa Daniel-Charles, confirmed that the Ministry will be housed in one of the towers but she could not give a time frame for the move.

The towers, built at a cost of $1.3 billion, were originally intended to house the headquarters of the still-born Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA). They form part of the Government’s $2.4 billion downtown waterfront transformation project. With the still-birth of the FTAA, the Government announced its intention to establish the Trinidad and Tobago International Financial Centre (TTIFC) to be housed in the unoccupied tower-Tower D.
