Default Game versus El salvador - ah real sad,..

Is it just me but looking at the game versus El salvador brought tears to my eyes as it was haert breaking to see that some of our national players did not play with heart ?

For example, while there is a lot "hurah's" about Kenwyn Jones, his presence or lack of was quite evident on the field. He made no attempt to hold on to the ball when it countered and especially towards the dying moments of the game. He is not the only one to blame but an enter team. If his heart is at Sunderland, then Mr Jones and others, please do not report for international duty. As we say "you were only pulling stones" and any review of the game would show that evidently.

On the other hand I looked at a friendly with Argentina and even though it was a friendly game that had no weight except, braging rights. R Look at how Tevez approached the game, "with heart". So mighty warriors, we here and with intense emotion and wantoness look forward to the next game. Please come to fight or change the name from warriors to "we come for ah sweat".

Salute to the skipper. There is a champion.

That skipper yuh saluting now also knew where his bread was buttered in his prime Villa & ManU days, so why hate on Kenwyn for doing the same thing?

I think after all that has come out in the past few days, it's hard to say well done skipper. Yorke played with 2 hearts last world cup but a bad move is a bad move and he did that with his converstion with Stern.

If you even have a fleeting look at the Premier League you will see that Tevez and Jones are two different players. Kenwyne is a predator in the box, and can win most headers. Tevez is a pitbull and will even challenge for 20-80 balls. To even attempt a comparison of these two guys is folly. The closest thing we have to Tevez is Chris, and even so it's a way off what Tevez does.

Kenwyne gets the goals, but for a tall man, he has a lot to learn from Crouch. And THAT hurts me to type.

That hurt me to read, but perhaps you are correct.
I just can't see my way to comment positively on Crouch at all. I just look at him and my head hurts...I'm just glad I'm a baldhead!

Majik, I disliked Crouch with a passion. He was a cheat at the World Cup, he's a punk normally, and he was at Liverfool so there are the reasons.
But in terms of holding on to a ball with men all round you, in terms of acrobatics (pre goal), in terms of dribbling....the man good!

to the above. as it relates to the Tevez vs Jones comparison. The comparison was not based on skill set but attitude on and off the ball. If it was a skill comparison a Jones/Tevez comparison would be analogous to "the donkey in a stallion horse race". Enough said. All I am conveying is that we need our foreign players and in fact any player who puts on the national uniform. Understand there is an expectation from them to perform, not just a waek trot here, a dummy challenge there", but a sense of purpose.

I have followed our soccer long enough, from the days of "Gally, when we lost to Haiti, to the Strike Squad". Travelled to tournament in Germany. I cried them, but now as written - ah sad. Because, the players on the field not trying, fitness level is horrible for players who are training day-in-day out.

With respect to my skipper - I stand firm.

the only person i blame here is the coach.

whatever he name is, he's real dotish for this main reason - when 2-0 up with 15 minutes to go, and having dominated the game for so long, you shut up shop at the back! You keep possession, don't make any stupid mistakes, and play down the remaining minutes.

it's definitely two points lost, and i hope this doesn't come back to bite trinidad in its behind later on.
Namitha, you're a babe. come to trini nah!

Because of the choppy reception I was getting I am unclear as to why Birchall was subbed out. He seemed to be having a good game, and he is one of our best players.
I hope his removal was due to fatigue or injury and not some silly strategy...

Just watched FA Cup highlights on SkySports. Jason Scotland scored for Swansea against Fulham in a 1-1 draw.

Scotland looks much quicker and much sharper than Stern.

I think we're all sad about the results in ES. However, it's typically Trini to blame ourselves or our boys when things go bad. Just look at the newspapers for example. They're blaming Dwight Yorke for the loss (ah mean draw).

They're a lot of factors behind the results. The ES team were falling on the ground all the time looking for foul and penalty calls from the ref. The Mexican ref may have been a little biased especially towards the end. However, the biggest and single-most important factor to me was the physical fitness of our team.

I think I should repeat that one more time. The biggest factor affecting the results (IMHO) was the physical fitness or conditioning of our team. We started giving away possession to the Salvadorans in the latter part of the second half when we were dominating them all along.

At the post game interview of Carlos Edwards, he was asked what he thought might have lead to the results. He acknowledged that fatigue might have been a factor. In other words, physical fitness was a factor in this game. We can't do too much for the foreign-based players, but they is a lot that can be done to help the local PFL players with their physical fitness.

Anyway, one point from an away game is really not so bad. Let's look forward to even better results in the up-coming games. May be we can shock the US in Nashville (just like Joe Public).

Fitness level was definitely a factor, but there is the dimension linked to passion and drive. Based the showing so far, as per previous games we have not lean't, that the game starts when the ref blows the whistle at the start of the game and does not end until the final whistle is blown. Much to the team's credit when compared to previous games, we started the game with intent but somewhere, it broke down because of lack of focus, drifting out of position resting on the 2 goals. The other team did not stop. Much like stalking an injured animal in the wild, their "predatory" instincts clicked in - the rest is why I am sad.

For me I think that the players really don't understand that for their fans, the game for us starts way before the actual game, at the build-up (we too travel, take time from work, and here is the finiancial component. The playing of the anthem that always _ "gives me goose bumps", it should be our primary battle-cry. The mediocracy shown however, would not be catalyst to me throwing in the towel as a TRINI FAN as that "RED/WHITE and BLACK" is my heritage.

now to the next encounter, the $64 question is - ARE WE UP TO THE CHALLENGE. Remember, el tri-color et al are not resting on any laurels'.

Beef up the FITNESS and lets' go "battle".

ah sorry for saying that Kenwyn was "pulling stones" when he puts on a Trini-shirt. I was wrong. In fact, I looked at his last two premier games and from what I can see he plays the same way at Sunderland (ie with no real drive). So man, at least he is consistent.
