Not only that DB as I stated before.....we were a very 'nomadic' family (on both sides)...we were also a family where inter-racial/ religion / and marriages to people from other countries....were the norm

...... I have relatives who originated from every corner of the world (daz how ah get de 10 bloodlines running through my veins)..... and never once as a child growing up I ever heard any of them (grandparents, great grand parents, aunts, uncles or cousins) say....."Oh, I long to go back to my roots"....I is ah "Chinee/Trini"... or ah "Spanish/Trini" ..... or ah Martinican/Trini"..... all of them (all the generations) considered themselves..... just Trinidadian ...... cus dat is whea dey livin....

As a matter of fact..... it took quite a bit of research by family members to eventually trace some of our roots.

I still think this whole 'looking backward, and going back thing'..... stems from a lot of insecurity..... some people (for whatever reason) feel out of place in their new home...and so for them it is easier to show that they have 'attachments' ...... elsewhere.

WRONG!!!!! It is simply cheaper for me to go "home" and see my brothers, sisters, their children and other relatives. NO insecurity there my friend.
