Default Class conciousness in the Carnival

Well I am reading this article in the Newsday, and it piqued my interest.

    http://www.newsday.co.tt/carnival_2012/0,154057.html

This year, patrons have three options. According to the organisers, “There'll be
the regular general area, a VIP area and a VVIP area this year. It is our hope
that by catering to the needs and wants of patrons who usually attend the
all-inclusive fetes, we'll see a restoration of the traditional WASA Fete, to
the days when tens of thousands would show up for a night of real feting
    enjoyment.”
So if I understand this right. You are going to one fete, but that one fete is segregated into 3 areas.

Regular General Area -- For the regular general folks.
VIP - For Very Important people.
    VVIP or V V I P -- Very Very Important people.

To me it would appear that the Regular General Area is for them regular general people, who would be kinda insignificant were it not for the little money that they managed to scrap up.

The VIP is for the folks that is just a step up from the regular general plebs. Those are the ones who could afford the little extra. And besides, they feel that them Very Important.

Now the VVIP -- V V I P area is the one that I cannot understand. Besides the ability to pay the money to go there and look very, very important, what other criteria exist to designate someone as a VERY, VERY IMPORTANT person? Were they in the V I P section last year, and complained a lot because they find that every Tom, Dick, and Harrypaul end up in the V I P section, so they wanted another degree of apartheid.

Do they go there so they could boast to their friends by the water cooler on Monday morning?

Sumintra -- "Aye gyul, how ah ent see yuh in WASA fete last night."
    Jo Ann -- "Gyul, I was in the V V I P section".
    Sumintra -- Oh Ho!!!

Is the apartheid in fetes now, similar to the apartheid in Harts and all them big shot bands on Carnival day?

    And what about WASA?

Does WASA now have a procedure to classify their sewerage pipes?

General Area Pipe -- Yuh hah tuh hold yuh nose when yuh approach one.
V I P Area Pipe -- Them pipes does be scented with local pefume.
V V I P Area Pipe -- Them pipes does get bathe down with French perfume.

Now seriously, I dont blame the fete promoters; I blame the dotish people who just have to buy the most expensive tickets to justify the division.

    Aye guvner, where yuh been?

Now I have never been to one of these section off fetes, where yuh have tuh "wine tuh de side" if yuh want tuh storm the V I P or V V I P section.

I feel that there are people who go to escape the bouncing of drinks, the picking of pockets, and the mashing of toes from the "Regular" folks.

I also feel that some people pay to go V V I P because it is a status thing. Or perhaps they conduct business and network in that section, while them soca artists singing all kinda chupidness.

Last year in Fatima All-Inclusive (and yes it have real people that think them is V V I Ps that does goh there), I see they even provide we "biggest drinker" with he own elevated tent. Max looked real uncomfortable up dey.

I glad Kamla doh goh tuh we all inclusive.

Ah elevated chopper in ah fete goh distract peeple.

if i go a fete, i ent going with the regular people, i'd rather go in the most expensive section and have a good, safe time.
