Default Losing a loved one unexpectedly ...

Anyone who has lost a loved one unexpectedly knows only too well the heartache
of never having had the opportunity to say goodbye. Forming a seance is an
attempt to open a link with the afterlife and the results, rather like a haunting
can be truly disturbing or of great comfort.
To those who understand, no explanation is necessary; to those who do not, none is possible.
    Nathaniel Branden, "Social Metaphysics."

Treat a man as he is and he will remain as he is; treat a man as he can and should be and he
will become as he can and should be..

    -Goethe

I shall be glad to hear from you, since questions have have always interested me; questions, not
debates - I have given those up long ago. Life itself is a quotation.

Lost two of them last year. Not unexpectedly, though. I had some warning that things were not right. These were real partners in crime, party buddies, one I knew since I was a child, grew up playing football with and liming with like lime was going out of style. I will never be the same. I feel like I'm just biding time for when it's my turn to come. Now that it is carnival time I am a wreck as these were two of my mas, steelband and fete buddies too.

Sometimes it's very hard to listen to any kind of calypso or soca because memories coming rushing in and I miss and long for them. No one really knows how hard this is on me. I never cried at the funeral or anything but my eyes well up with water all the time when they come to mind. It's a scar for life. A hurt that I'll take to my grave.
