Early-education programs are a curb on crime

    3:09 PM, Jun. 3, 2011

Interesting article. I think it nicely summarizes things we already know:

Research shows us that investing in the earliest years of a child's life can significantly reduce crime in the long run, saving considerable taxpayer dollars.
The early years in a child's life are a prime opportunity to make sure he or she can arrive at school ready to learn, develop and succeed. High-quality early learning programs help children develop valuable social and learning skills, understand the difference between right and wrong, and learn respect for their peers and adults. Children are more likely to enter kindergarten well-prepared academically and well-adjusted socially, which makes a big impact on their chances for success in school and in life.
I had to highlight the word 'help' as the simple article did not make mention of the role of the parent as a major factor in early childhood development.

There was another good point made in the article:

High-quality early childhood education saves money in the short run by reducing the need for special education, and repeating grades that strain our school budgets.
Trinidad needs to somehow standardize early childhood education to ensure quality. Phonics has been tested and proven to be effective. The Jamaican education system had it for a long time now. Its about time Tdad got on board with this, a worthy investment imo.
I wanted to ask God for a bike, but I know God doesn't work that way. So I stole a bike and asked for forgiveness.

It is an essential aspect of civilization and - of special concern to us - crime prevention.

    Politically, we are ignoring POSTERITY.
Too little effort if any is put into attending to upcoming generations. It is the natural way I suppose; the natural tendency is to see about oneself in one's time, and not be concerned about what would or might happen after one is no longer around; but a sustainable civilization is wrought from a Policy of Posterity - focusing of future generations; enabling the successive generations to surpass the previous generations.
On Sept 11th 2001 in the afternoon, World Trade Center Tower 7 was brought down by CONTROLLED DEMOLITION. Who did it? When did they place the charges?
It's not the TRUTH that causes wars, it's the LIES.

    Is the source bad parenting?
