Indian Borage -- Effective Cough Remedy from your herb garden
Spanish thyme, Cuban oregano, Big thyme, Indian borage

The Indian borage first came to my notice when I was suffering from a bad cough, and a friend suggested chewing the leaves of this plant she had growing in her garden. Apparently, even her son, a doctor, found it helpful when more conventional medicines didn't help. And she was right, the leaves provided almost immediate relief………………….
    HERBAL AND MEDICINAL USES
    • Coughs and sore throats The leaves are commonly used in India and Southeast Asia to treat coughs. It is known to be an effective expectorant. The simplest method is to chew a leaf. You can also make a tea by boiling the leaves in water (in the Caribbean, they add honey to the tea). Or you can pound the leaves and mix with a little water.
In some parts of Indonesia, the herb is used in a soup given to new mothers to help increase milk flow…………

Well worth reading the whole article. I learned new uses for this herb.

It might be a little bit premature to think that summer is over, especially in this country. Yes, it is possible
September could be a scorcher, this is the UK. September is an ideal time for a great tidy-up, whilst it is
still warm enough to work outdoors comfortably before the inevitable freezing weather sets in. We are going
away for 6 weeks in October there is much to do. Of course, once we have done what have to be done,
the sun may come out and we may have to unpack the cleaned deck-chair or two if the summer turns out to
    be an Indian one.
To those who understand, no explanation is necessary; to those who do not, none is possible.

Oh well this time around you will be a better gardner as you now have the experience.

Hint hint....don't let Rahul see you pulling weeds and feeling satisfied with it....okay?
When my son was real little as a toddler he saw me weed a nice patch which I then planted.
Oh oh....you can guess what he did when I turned my back.....every single plant I had planted.
Hmmmmm...... I can't wait until his little ones pull up all of his plants one of these days and it won't take them long as there are 3 of them

    An ancient Chinese proverb states:
He who plants a garden plants happiness
    .
My garden is my most beautiful masterpiece.
    Charles Monet
To those who understand, no explanation is necessary; to those who do not, none is possible.
    Nathaniel Branden, "Social Metaphysics."

Treat a man as he is and he will remain as he is; treat a man as he can and should be and he
will become as he can and should be..

I shall be glad to hear from you, since questions have have always interested me; questions, not
debates - I have given those up long ago. Life itself is a quotation.
