    Default Question of vocabulary

    Hi everyone,

I am translating a book by the Trinidadian author Samuel Selvon and there is a word I could not find in the dictionary: balbo. Context: Moses wants to give money to his aunt and she says that it is balbo money.

    Thank you:-)

Oh sorry, it's written in a mix of Standard and Trinidadian English. The sentence in the book is: And they [white people] offer balbo money, too? I think what is meant is that the money offered by Moses is useless since he gives English pounds.

    Never heard the word ...
To those who understand, no explanation is necessary; to those who do not, none is possible.
    Nathaniel Branden, "Social Metaphysics."

I shall be glad to hear from you, since questions have have always interested me; questions, not
debates - I have given those up long ago. Life itself is a quotation.
