yes .... it high .. but when you do the conversion .. it is about the same if not less... in one day i average about $550 TT for drinks food taxi etc ... that is less than $100 Canadian ... and we don't have the hot weather where I a live

Remember, some criticise to denigrate, others to uplift, know the difference.

However, salaries here are often significantly less. The actual cost of living when compared to income is quite high here.

I think if you chose what you buy carefully, your food bill can still be reasonable in Trinidad compared to other countries, but that is just based on the short time I spend in Trinidad, and I'm paid in US dollars, so I could be wrong.

POSER my friend, i was in T&T last july, and prices are very high; even on the exchange. But, you can't count exchange. What exchange rate the people working in T&T have ?
My friend, my wife and i spend about $200.00 a month for groceries. My sister in T&T spent $1,051.00 in T&T, and she said she went to the market earlier in the week so she didn't have to buy certain items. I am willing to bet, even on the exchange, since i have exchange rate of 6 to 1, i cannot live as comfortable in T&T as i can live here. An audi cost $375,000.00 Are you serious ? That is $65, 000 plus, in the exchange. The way the economy going here, i could probably buy a house here in Ocala, for that kind ah money.

DB....$200 US,is $1200+ TT....but I understand and agree with what you are saying...ironically the NAR did the best job in controlling the price of food, and my dollar went further, during that time.Of course the unions were up in arms, because some workers loss 10% of salaries and COLA....but I have come to realize that if the GORTT can keep the cost of essentials down...the citizens quality of life could be improved...without having any great pay hikes....TT unions by and large like to boast about large pay % increases, which are soon eroded.....they need tuh focus on better short and long term benefits for their membership...

They do, but only for themselves, yuh see the more money their membership gets, is more money they will get.
