NEW YORK had 526 murders in 2010, an increase of 13.4%. Last year there were 471 murders in NY.

DB here is something you may be interested in .....

Windsor On. suceeded in ending 2010 with ZERO murders ....first time in 50 years....generally they average about 8

HOWEVER....

Windsor is right across the river (border) from Detroit..... a city that had the distinction in the past two or three decades as being.... The Crime Capital of the USA ..... even though crime is on the decline in Detroit now ..... it is still up there as one of the most violent cities in the us......And right accross from Windsor....go figure.

Hate to say this dancer, but my feeling is ..... it took two generations to reduce T&T to where it is today
(crime wise ah torkin bout....Yes, ah kno allyuh have big buildings and nice highways)

..... Anyway, I see it taking 'at least' another two generations to bring it back to where it was (a safer, law abiding society).

I say, just like 'the first world' did with challenges like....'racism... drinking and driving.... smoking..... the environment'. Forget the old people.....work on the children.... try to mold them into being the model citizens who will carry the 'good habits' into the future.

I suppose better late than never that we coming around to realise that the crime is not a political issue--it is a societal issue--and maybe now we can focus on a real solution.
