NEWLYWED Suschilla Ramkissoon-Mark has gotten a special belated wedding
present from the Peoples Partnership administration – a brand new job as chief
executive officer (CEO) of the Export Centres Company Limited (ECCL), based at
the Eastern Main Road, Mount Hope.
Ramkissoon, who tied the knot in a secret wedding, with Speaker of the House
Wade Mark under Hindu rites at the Shiva Jyoti Hindu Temple Las Lomas Hindu
Temple on July 12, is already deputy chairman of the board of the Trinidad and
Tobago Electricity Commission (TTEC).
has learnt that the young attorney-at-law quietly assumed the
position as CEO two weeks ago, and further checks revealed that the vacancy was
only advertised once, in the May 5, edition of the Newsday newspaper. She
replaced Calvin Maurice, who had been holding the position following the change
in administration after the May 24, 2010 general election.
While her appointment is consistent with the position articulated by Prime
Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar that all vacant contractual positions need to be
