In just five months at the helm this government has managed to endanger the one thing that brought it and, has kept it in power. “Kamlamania!” This fumbling bunch of novices appear to have deluded their selves into thinking that the hype created by this female messiah was sufficient to keep them in power.

Eager to get their hand on the “cash register” an anxious PP proceeded to make promises to a gullible public which was at that time fed a diet of anti PNM/ anti Manning rhetoric as the raison d’ etre for the removal of the government. Admittedly, the PNM and Manning had indeed lost the public relation battle (based entirely on its own misdeed) and were unable to extricate itself from the horrendous quagmire of discontent the population felt towards it. Thus the PP was left with the simple task of convincing the convinced.

What we are witnessing is “Kamlamania” gone mad. Oh! How quickly has this wave of popular support which brought this government into power turned into a tidal wave of discontent and despair? Citizens are hurting as the true colors of the amateurs and opportunists in government are daily being exposed. What has become clear is that the expected change citizens voted for has with alacrity evaporated into a growing sea of unrealistic expectations which pose a threat to the political and economical stability of this country.

To date, there is no evidence that the political and economic changes promised by this government exist. Allegations of corruption and favoritism continue as the reality that this government lack the ability to lead this country as they promised become clear to the citizens of this country. There are now a growing number of citizens that feel a hurt akin to the pain and disappointment they felt in the past administration. What exactly has changed? From where I stand, the only change we have had thus far is a change of party in government.

What citizens must now consider is how much pain they are willing to endure. Should this PP government; which has now become a hurricane taking aim at our resources, be allowed to continue to destroy this country both at home and abroad? Should we have to remind this government that they were elected to administer healing and not pain. A resounding no I say! .We should never forget how this government made us feel.
