How come TSTT has a monopoly on landline networks? And how come none of the global mobile telephony groups (like Vodafone and them) have little to no presence in Trini?
Should there be a competitor in landlines, as there is in mobile telecommunications?
hey mammadon im looking at my flow landline now and it wants to know what are you talking about monopoly

i believe the TATT is considering proposals for number portability so that you wont receive a number based upon your provider, rather you will receive a number based on "location?" like what they do in US/CA/EU etc...
ie if you have a number that is 777-0777 which is normally considered a bmobile number, you can infact change provider to digicel and maintain that same number
out of all honesty though people, i've spent a month in the US and took out a plan with t-mobile and i am convinced of opening a cellphone company now.
i paid US$55 (inc tax) for a month of unlimited talk evenings and weekend, 500 anytime minutes and unlimited text.
normally you would have to pay $59.99 + tax for that plan but i had my own cellphone so i got a $10 discount. and for $10 again i could have had unlimited internet. all this without any contract. Hell I wouldnt mind paying TT$400 a month to get that kind of deal.

They're haggling over the billing and pricing issues apparently...
