Before the Transistor radio, it was the VACUUM-TUBE types like Marconi, Philips. Philco, GE. When you put the power on, the lights would blink because there was only 1 fifteen amp fuse feeding the whole house. It took about 2-3 mins to warm up before you could start hearing anything. Some people had a long wire (about 25 feet) running on top of the house? You remember Radio-Gram? - Looks like a big liquor cabinet with a radio and Grammaphone (record player). My uncle had one of those mechanically wind up type grammaphone.

I played the tomba with CHET SAMPSON band on the road for carnival. Also there were JOHNNY GOMEZ, CYRIAL DIAZ, CLARENCE CURVAN (he is trying to start a band in NEW YORK again, CYRIL RAMDEO. JOEY LEWIS is the last of the big bands still around. Every gloria saturday,he comes to NEW YORK , Ah go miss that fete boy. You right boy, you are curing my alzhimers. If you did't say so I would not have remembered all those bands.

Remember when:
People use to use Coal Pot Iron to iron clothes.
Hookers were called Wabeen and Jaggabat.
Men used to treat their 3-speed bicycle like a car? Washing it at the stand pipe every week and polishing it up.
When you ask change for a dollar, you would get 4 shillings and 4 cents.

Remember when chirren used to have lice in sch and spread it around. I get my long hair cut off in primary sch when I get lice.
Chirren does still have? I remember in secondary sch up to form 5 it had 2 girls with lice. You used to see it walking on their head and yet we were all to shame to say anything.
People used to use Coconut oil as a body "cream" and hair dressing/grooming ointment. Sometimes you would see a shining louse/lice pop out of the hair and go back in at the same speed.

For South people:
Remember:
Twilight (Twilite?) drive-in cinemat on the Marabella-Sando Bypass road, near Tarouba.
When they used to buldoze the SanFernando Hill for the gravel.
Cinemas: San Fernando- Empire, Strand, Gaiety, Globe and the one next to the market. Embassy at Marabella roundabout. Not forgetting the 2 Indian ones at the library, Palace and ? How many of those are still existing?

Solachica

Point Fortin, santa flora, cedros, penal, la brea, la romain had cinemas to. All abandoned now except the la brea and la romain ones are churches now.
And one on coffee st is a church but don't know the name.
Wow there were a lot of cinemas.

The Twilight sign still up. National cinema still operating.
There was the Magnificant 7 now I think its 5 or less.
