Soon it will be like those futuristic movies..where everyone must have an identification card with their disease status...and they will be confined to living in certain areas..and get tested every 3 months, or probably have some constant monitoring device on your ankle...

you never know...get tested...and ppl cud be carriers an look just as healthy as an ox...

is a scary world out dey...jus from a lil snogging yuh cud get herpes...and it still doh have a cure fuh dat yet...

It is scary.

Even if someone has a test, and it turns out negative,

whose to say that six months down the line the virus would not surface.

And some people can be carriers as someone pointed out here.

Like I aways say there is no such thing as safe sex anymore, (well except you practice masturbation by yourself)

The thing is, you can never be sure about who is infected as to who is not, you just have to take your chances and hope for the best, and

at the same time to lessen the odds, stick to one partner.

yes stick to one partner, but u cant comtrol someone's past can u?

so since gettin tested is the only 99% sure way to know, how does one bring up that idea? cuz i no ppl who would take insult to that....

Sapodilla, hopefully when we choose a partner we don't let our hearts rule our minds,
and some kind of common sense comes into play. Personally I find when the person
has a good family foundation this tend to go a long way.

Of course, this is just a guideline, one cannot never be sure because you never know what the other is thinking.

Dhal, use the direct approach. That is what I did. Of course be prepared that he/she may also request
a test done by your goodself. If offense is taken by you requesting such,
then the person is too immature for you.

Just move on!

dhal why would u have to explain why u would choose to get tested? This right here is a symptom of the effect and paranoia a disease has on people.

Hopefully you won't fall for someone with it because then u might dump him/her just so that yuh name eh go call secondarily yuh go worry about health. Sigh! HIV/AIDS people go read up on it some more, in fact try chatting with someone who has it and see it from their eyes.

As adults we all should be tested regularly whether or not we are "suspicious" its the right thing and mature sensible thing to do. Prevention is better than cure not so? So don't feel as if u need to tell strangers online yuh tested or not that is none of we business. Just do u!

This should be quite acceptable in today's society to ask your partner to be tested with you...

I mean everytime u get serious with someone u shud be willing to go and both get tested together (regardless of when you were last tested) so atleast you both know where u stand...

This is not the time for shame or pride...people dying by the millions...

true...but the reality is that some ppl take it as an insult...how does one deal with such ignorance?

once you decide to take the r/ship to the next stage... your partner should consider that its just a matter of precaution... i agree tht ppl dying by d millions with this dreaded disease.. and getting tested puts your mind at ease...

man gettin tested should be mandatory...and still use condoms too !!

is not jus aids yuh cud get...there are scores of STD's some of them render you infertile, other incurable, others fatal ...

men an women alike should take control of their destiny and insist on it...it could be the difference between life or death...
