It's never to late and unless we have a mathematical chance of NOT qualifying there is still hope for the unthinkable to happen. That's the beauty of football, anything is possible.

3rd place is just 3 points away so it still isn't too late.

But after the style Zamora pulled on us when he thought he would have been the biggest star for England, we should leave his tail to play pre-season with Fulham.

Also expected to join the T&T squad are British duo Bobby Zamora and J Lloyd Samuel, who play for Fulham FC and Bolton Wanderers respectively.

Zamora is of T&T descent but was born in England, while Samuel was born in T&T. Mohammed revealed that Zamora got his T&T passport renewed yesterday, and Samuel should receive his today. Both players will join the team in T&T by Monday along with other foreign-based players, when the 18-man squad to face El Salvador on Wednesday is expected to be named.

So Falcon, if Zamora and Kenwyne could gel wel together as a strike force at Sunderland that could be good for the TT front line. Imagine if they could generate that telepathic understanding like what Bebeto and Romario had in the early 90s for Brazil.

With Kenwyne, Scotland, Zamora and Cornell Glen in contention, does that mean the end of the line for Stern?

Falcon

It depends on how the line sits on the bench.

True, if yuh playing the third place team and yuh beat them and if the 4th and 5th place teams are beaten by the team they play, i.e the 1st and 2nd place teams .. that would still not put you in third place, unless you have a better g/d ... but then you still have 4 more games left, and you are hoping that the teams below you lose and you win all your game - but wait !! in de first round did you beat anyone ???,Then consider this - USA and Costa Rica might already be qualified by then, so they might not be fielding full strength teams, so I don't know where that leave yuh eh ....

But still I hoping against hope and wishing the Soca Warriors all the best in their uphill battle.

Talk is that Jlloyd passport didn't come through so he not showing up for this Wed match. Look like Zamora coming though. Latas supposed to name the squad either this evening or tomorrow morning.

I understand how some could vex with Bobby but let time be his judge. D man though he had a chance with England and wanted to keep his options open. Shaka at one point brace we when he thought he had the same chance.

True dat, we pulled off 5 wins out of 6 games in d last campaign to make Germany but the odds kinda stacked against us a bit more now.

I not too happy at the preperations made so far, all those other teams were in the Gold cup, Confed and playing friendlies and we home kicking ball against St. Kitts and d U-20 side. Both of which were not convicing wins at all.

Falcon

the difference in dat cm103, is that Shaka went through the schools football program, was Trini all along save for the birthplace. ZamNOMOREra spit on T&T, say he too big for us, and he have bigger fish to fry, we begged Bobby, and Bobby turn he lame self away through illusions of grandeur which were grossly exaggerated.

the main difference though, is that Shaka was good. ZamNOMOREora is a two by four journeman footballer who best bet today is try and tief ah sweat from Hull Cidy if he lucky. We don't need ZamNOMOREora. All is not lost; let him use dat passport to go in the fast line at Piarco. Anyhow, skippa Birchall not going to let Blobby stink up the place like Stern.

CM103

I am sure that many of us in the Washington DC metro area were shocked to discover that Shaka was born in England.

While he was the goalkeeper at Howard University, you would always see him heavily involved in Trini football events. He either played for All Stars or Juniors, two Trinidad teams in the area. Many still marvel at the saves he made on Blair Road, during the Allstars annual summer tournament and the T&T tournaments in Baltimore.

Yuh say party at the T&T club house at Delafield Road, and later on Georgia Avenue, and once he had some spare time, he right dey, mixing and talking with everybody.

Both he and his younger brother, Kona, might have been English by birth, but the Village of Trinbagonians in Washington DC, helped raise them.

I hearing what allyuh saying fellas but what I trying to get across is that Zamora made a professional decision based on the options he thought he had at that time. He knew nothing about TnT and said that was his old man's country. Now is pure emotion men running on to say we don't need him? Throw him in the mix and see if he could win a spot, if not make KJ, or Scotland perform a bit better or ride the pine. Half d men who running out regular in d red, white and black sweating for second level leagues and we current skipper doh have a regular sweat in how long.

We forwards eh making things happen and running at defences, midfield can't hold up the ball and the defence slow and flat footed. Jlloyd looks to be an improvement in the back line and we losing nothing by trying out Zamora in a campaign that almost on life support. Notice I say try he out, if he cyah win a spot then is pine or back home for he.

Now if he turn he back if we doh go anywhere and doh come back to play in any friendlies after the campaign then ah go ban meh belly and say allyuh was right. Dem days eh reach yet though.

So like Zamora 'injured' so he eh making this match either.

What allyuh think of the team that running out on Wednesday?

Clayton Ince Marvin Phillip
Dennis Lawrence / Marvin Andrews
Radanfah Abu Bakr / Keyeno Thomas
Keon Daniel / Densil Theobald
Carlos Edwards / Kenwyne Jones
Hughton Hector / Clyde Leon
Trent Noel/ Jan Michael Williams
Silvio Spann / Chris Birchall
Jason Scotland / Cornell Glen
Keston Williams / Aklie Edwards
Kerry Baptiste / Hayden Tinto

Dwight Yorke/Russell Latapy

I wondering where Avery John and Colin Samuel. I really hoping that Latapy doh suit up and he leave it up to the boys to get the job done.

I hope Latas have the sense to sub out Yorke if he start getting bun. In the last match at the Azteca he held up the ball well until that 70 min mark then men was just breezing by him.

Falcon, when sacky and them read your post they will think the man get dropped. Fulham says the man has a knee trouble. Wigan also asked for Jason Scotland to stay at the club.

If Zamora is committed, he would be a good player for the team.

I say we should just pack this team with as many U20 players as possible and keep Birchall and J-LLoyd in the team to guide them.

As Big Zack was saying, this team was kept together since the U17 level so that cohesion is necessary if we are to challenge for a place in the next Gold Cup and World Cup.

Fulham's Zamora may be worth England call - Roy Hodgson

Fulham manager Roy Hodgson believes striker Bobby Zamora may be worthy of a place in England's World Cup squad.

Zamora, 28, scored his sixth goal of the season in a 1-0 win over Sunderland - prompting Hodgson to suggest he could offer an alternative to Emile Heskey.

Zamora, born in Barking, Essex, earned six caps for the England Under-21 side.

He was reportedly <  called up to represent Trinidad and Tobago at full international level in 2009 - his father is from the Caribbean nation - but did not appear because of injury.

He is still eligible to play for England,.....

(Moot point though because dem will pick Zamora last, after Lineker.)

Bobby Zamora in action for Fulham in the England league.

http://guardian.co.tt/sports/football/2010/08/08/capello-calls-zamora

Former Soca Warriors target, Bobby Zamora of Fulham was one of three uncapped players called up by England boss Fabio Capello in his 23-man squad to face Hungary on Wednesday. Zamora, whose father hails from Carenage was called up to the T&T squad for Concacaf World Cup qualifiers last year along with Jlloyd Samuel. However, while the San Fernando-born Samuel now attached to Bolton Wanderers eventually made his T&T debut, Zamora was forced out due to injury.
