Renuka Singh, writing in the Express today, talked about 'former Attorney feneral' John Jeremie.
Now I fully appreciate f is next to g at least on a qwerty keyboard (not sure about azerty)....but feneral ain't no word and as such, should have been intercepted by a spell check. That's of course, if it was engaged in the spell check. Furthermore, this was a front page story and should have been proof read by the author and sub or politics editor. They all missed 'feneral', in spite of it being a 'word' initiated by an ascender and therefore difficult to miss. Phew!

Supposed to be "you're watching".
Have you also noticed that these reporters also use "would" where the are supposed to use "will"?
There seems to be more and more illiteracy in newsrooms these days.
Watching the local news tickers during the seven p.m. news, you see some real howlers.

riverlime4so, you echo my name and my sentiments.
It seems that the passport for commentating is who you are or what you look like, and not elocution. Just witness the nepotism of having Tony Cozier's son trying to interview people while wearing a slightly dumbstruck "how did I get this gig?" expression.

Too bad about the name, man. That's going to cause a little confusion on this forum.
I'm going to ask skl to change my handle anyway. Been thinking about it for some time now. The handle was a spur of the moment thing.
But seriously. Cozier's son is a journalist? Ran into the guy a couple times at Anchorage and Pier 1. (We have a mutual friend).
Always struck me as a major hole.
