After a while you learn the subtle difference between holding a hand and chaining a soul,
And you learn that love doesn't mean leaning and company doesn't mean security,
And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts and presents aren't promises,
And you begin to accept your defeats with your head up and your eyes open, with the grace of an adult, not the grief of a child,
And you learn to build all your roads on today because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain for plans.
After a while you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too much.
So plant your own garden and decorate your own soul, instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.
And you learn that you really can endure... that you really are strong,
And you really do have worth.

Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were meant to be there...
to serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson or help figure out who you are or who you want to become. You never know who these people may be but when you look eyes with them, you know that every moment that you are with them, they will affect your life in some profound way. And sometimes things happen to you at the time that may seem horrible, painful and unfair, but in reflection you realize that without overcoming those obstacles you would have never realized your potential, strength, will power or heart.
Everything happens for a reason! Nothing happens by chance or by means of good luck. Illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness and sheer stupidity all occur to test the limits of your soul. Without these small tests, life would be like a smoothly paved, straight, flat road to nowhere, safe and comfortable but dull and utterly pointless.
The people you meet affect your life. The successes and downfalls that you experience can create who you are, and the bad experiences can be learned from.... In fact, they are probably the most poignant and important ones. If someone hurts you, betrays you or breaks your heart, forgive them because they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious to whom you open your heart. If someonen loves you, love them back unconditionally not only because they love you, but also because they are teaching you to love and open your heart and eyes to little things.
Make everyday count! Appreciate every moment and take from it everything that you possibly can, for you may never be able to experience it again. Talk to people who you have never talked to before, and actually listen. Let yourself fall in love, even if it doesn't seem right because you are too young or too far, just follow your heart. Surround yourself with those who make you smile, laugh, and make you happy.
Break free and set your sights high. Hold your head up because you have every right to. Tell yourself you are a great individual and believe in yourself, for if you don't believe in yourself, no one else will believe in you. Create your own life then let go and live it! ;)

We have no choice of what color we're born or who our parents are or whether we're rich or poor. What we do have is some choice over what we make of our lives once we're here.
If you're trying to achieve, there will be roadblocks. I've had them; everybody has had them. But obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.
A man can be as great as he wants to be. If you believe in yourself and have the courage, the determination, the dedication, the competitive drive and if you are willing to sacrifice the little things in life and pay the price for the things that are worthwhile, it can be done."

Believing in youself is sometimes the hardest thing to do...if for a very long time you've been under stress, in situations that cause u to doubt yourself, regaining that ability to believe in yourself is so hard.
in some instances you've become such a cynic that you can outline your faults as well as everyone else and u dont believe there is anything special or unique about yourself....its very self destructing.

I really like your words of inspiration! it is a healing text, for the emotionally weak to
reflect on, with no doubt. If life deals us lemons then make lemonade.
Continue to see the glass half full and you are motivated to fill it until it flows over. Continue to see the glass half empty and you are motivated to empty it to the last drop. A prisoner was left in jail with the door unlocked. The prisoner was so convinced that the door was locked with the key, he never even pulled the door once to see if it was really locked.

Every little thing that happens in our life is an opportunity to grow towards something greater. We shall not fear evil, weakness or loneliness, because even in the worse times God is there with us, telling our hearts to find the way. Nothing is really bad; it's just a bridge to see the wonderful opportunities you get when you learn that you are a beautiful creature and that the universe is there for you to take the best out of everything.

Building your self esteem reduces the need to lean heavily on others. Pay more attention to your accomplishments.

According to Greek mythology, Icarus was a young man who tried to escape from a labyrinth wearing a pair of waxen wings made by his father Daedalus. However, despite his father warnings, Icarus flew too close to the sun, his wings melted and he fell to Earth. Hold this story in your mind to remind yourself of the need to balance idealism and aspiration with realistic awareness of human limitation.

Everyday when you're walking down the street, everybody that you meet
Has an original point of view
And I say HEY! what a wonderful kind of day.
Where you can learn to work and play
And get along with each other
You got to listen to your heart
Listen to the beat
Listen to the rhythm, the rhythm of the street
Open up your eyes, open up your ears
Get together and make things better by working together
It's a simple message and it comes from the heart
Believe in youself (echo: believe in yourself)
Well thats the place to start (to start)
And I say HEY! what a wonderful kind of day
Where you learn to work and play
And get along with each other
Hey!
What a wonderful kind of day
Hey!
What a wonderful kind of day
Hey!!

Many of us tend tend to think that the things we dislike about ourselves cancel out our positive qualities, rendering us fundamentally flawed. A more loving approach is to view our positive qualities as reflections of our true selves, and our defects as arising out of alienation from our true selves - perhaps because we are in a state of fear. When we value our positive qualities, we come into alignment with our true selves. This enables us to express those qualities more fully, becoming more truly who we are.

If my mental processes are determined wholly
by motions of atoms in my brain, I have no
reason for supposing that my beliefs are true.
They may be sound chemically, but that does
not make them sound logically. And hence I
have no reason for supposing my brain to be
composed of atoms.
