Valene Maharaj made it into the top 10 and there are also 6 fast track winners so she's in the Top 16.

When they showed a lil clip of her talking abt herself she sounds so false talking and her actions. She's not natural. The others were so fluent and had stuff to say and all she said was her name and tht sounded so false.

But Jamaica, Grenada and Puerto Rico are also in.

They asked her abt her time in China. She said it was best meeting family. To meet friends tht turned to family.

Well she made it to the Top 5. But her 40secs speech sounded so practiced and rehearsed. Didn't think it answered the question abt something abt herself tht people doesn't already know. She answered abt the good Miss World does.

Is the new Miss World also representing her country in the Olympics? I thought I heard her say she wanted to be a torch bearer or flag bearer in the Olympics in her hometown in Beijing.

Wuh de hell is dis... so how do you define false? isnt that a matter of individual perspective... how do you know the judges or anybody else saw her as false also?. I think to make it in the top 5 is to do tnt very proud again... all the women we have sent have consistently maintained tnt in the top 10 or 15. I think its quite refreshing to see an
indo-trinidadandtobagonian representing us and doing just as good as most of the others. Congrats/bigup to Valene and TnT.. she represented us well(if she made it in the top 5).

From what I can tell the Miss World 2007 is the person who won LAST YEAR. The competition today is to crown Miss 2008. That's why the sites are saying Miss China won 2007. That's also why the event was held in China this yr....the homeplace of the reigning winner.

Sola I agree, the narrative sounded very rehearsed, and most unnatural. Whether it is the familiarity with the trini accent and so we pick up things that we wouldn't normally notice in other languages, I don't know. But as for the trini rep- r.e.h.e.a.r.s.e.d.

But congrats in order for reaching the top 5. Beauty is always in the eyes of the beholder, and this time I didn't behold anywhere near a top 5 placing. But that's just me. And for future reference, pics in front of croton trees went out in the 70s. :|

Seeing Miss Ghana win the talent competition was intresting. She looked like she had fun.
Wht was TnT representative talent?

The show was sorta over in a blur. The fast track 6, then the 10 and then the 5 and 3.

Wasn't a bit unfair to the first gurl who answered the question and then the others had time to think abt their answer.

I didn't even know abt tht disease in the fish children.

How many times can someone using the word 'amazing' in sentences when talking.
Here's how she talks: It was such an amazing experience at miss world. All the gurls were amazing. The great wall of china was so amazing. The reception in the UK at the airport was amazing. Miss world international does amazing work with hiv/aids :roll:

Her makeup looked better when she came back to trini at the airport than how she was done up at the competition nite.

China may not be able to speak English as a full language for the pageant but believe me they all can speak it eh. It's mandatory for them they chose to speak in their native language cause she is representing her country not the West. I sure Miss China know about 20 other languages so what mizz thing talking out she eye hole for dread? :x
