Installing an operating system on a usb stick!!!!

This is a nice benefit of the Ubuntu operating system!!!!! It will install and run on a USB stick!! The minimum size is prolly 4 gig!! It seems to run at full speed just like a hard drive installed OS!!!!

I am more a fan of knoppix based distros for a portable ready to use OS especially if you want something light on resources eg some knoppix sub-species of Damn Small Linux could clock in @ under 64mb and still be considered fully loaded. Mostly I love the fact that there is a Linux distro for everybody and any function.

Making a USB distro easily from scratch with very little technical skills ..

fantastic tool, you can download and use your own iso and it will build a bootable key around it or select from a list of distributions within the app to download and install to your key
