Both teams start to panic in the last over. With 5 runs needed from 3 balls like WI forget how to run and they were ball watching and get 2 run outs :sheep:

Gayle said he will drop players if they don't perform - next thing I see is that they pick the same team for the ODI tomorrow.

I heard Barry Wilkinson from the Line and Length Network commentary team saying he spoke to Fidel Edwards and said he is recuperating from an injury and will try for a come back in 2011.

Initially they said the man had a slight injury - this thing taking more than a year to heal.

Gail must go

otherwise even the momories of the remnants of a once great empire shall be lost.

by the way, Otis Gibson sucking money and we cricket going backward

Acid
05-24-2010, 08:24 PM
But ent they credit Otis with developing Stuart Broad, James Anderson, Bresnan and Graham Swann and helping England "turn the corner" to be a world contender now?

I hope he could work that kind of work ethic and discipline into the WI team.

Far too much I see WI players getting muscle injuries and side strains - that is a pure indication of a lack of fitness and muscle conditioning. When Dennis Waight was the physio of WI in the 70s and 80s I never hear of players, especially the fast bowlers having a long layoff and breaking down in the middle of a test match.

Sometimes I wonder what is the planning and foresight that goes on in the boardroom of the WICB and their selectors.

Whenever WI playing, I wake up and follow them and it does hutt meh when I see what these folks doing after growing up in that period when WI was the dominant force in world cricket.

Falcon, wah gwann wid yuh team here boy?

Gayle send Benn off the field like what Viv did with Richard Gabriel:

Post-match presentation
Gayle: "I'm very disappointed, credit to Bravo for the way he bowled the final over. We got 300, but I felt we were still 30 short given the start we got. Amla's batting also took the game away from us. It's heart-breaking for the fans, such a big turnaround for which I thank the fans. Very disappointing in the middle, too many dot deliveries. Benn didn't have any injury, we asked him to do a job and he couldn't deliver so it doesn't make any sense. "

Gayle sounded pretty emotional there, used the word 'disappointed' at least six times, and had some very harsh words for Sulieman Benn.

Doh tell me WI players trying to sabotage the Cappo like how the PNM say they wanted to get rid of Manning

Well I seeing on the papers this morning that Otis saying WI are improving

http://www.trinidadexpress.com/index.pl/nart?id=161686467&weba=NWSSports

’So the signs are there that we’re moving forward. It takes time ...
Nevertheless, the guys are working hard to improve their overall cricket, their thinking of their game, and that is important.’

http://www.trinidadexpress.com/shared/images/2010/06/02/s1.jpg

On the Sueileman Benn issue:

"Gayle asked Benn to bowl over the wicket, which Benn refused, saying he had never done so before. After a meeting with management on Monday, Benn was fined 100 per cent of his match fee."

"If the captain asks you to do something you do it, and if it don’t work, so be it. But you can’t show unwillingness to do something for the good of the team."

Falcon
06-02-2010, 05:32 PM
I criticise Gail a lot, but he damn right this time. Drop Benn tail.

Acid
06-02-2010, 05:46 PM
Benn's excuse was "he never bowl over the wicket."

I eh know what they teach him in BIM but I know when you first start to play cricket the natural instinct is to bowl over the wicket regardless if you are right handed or lefty. For some reason Benn is unorthodox and always went the other side. That seems really strange.

Benn is not any big spinner of the ball so I think he should bowl over the wicket to get a better line with more accuracy and potential bounce.

Falcon
06-02-2010, 06:28 PM
Acid, if BigMout Benn 'never bowl over the wicket' then what d rass he doing playing international cricket.

Even more reason to drop he tail. Ah sure Jaggers could bowl 2 side.

Acid
06-03-2010, 01:11 PM
That is the fuss time I hear a bowler say he couldn't bowl over the wicket - I eh know what to say again.

5th ODI between WI and SA at the Queen's Park Oval live on:

TV

Radio
Vibe CT 105.1fm Trinidad and Tobago: http://www.jumptv.com/en/channel/thevibect105fm/

Gayle won the toss, dropped Benn for Dave Bernard, and elected to bat in the rain.

WI 252/6: Chanderpaul 67, Deonarine 52*

draja
06-03-2010, 02:11 PM
Taken from CRICINFO as South Africa prepares to respond to WI total:

"Getting ready for the chase then. Earl Maragh sends the first comment on what to expect. "Its not a question of the bowlers containing the South Africans from getting the required runs. Its whether or not Gayle's field placing can dictate containtmen. Gayle as a captain lacks imagination and ability to think through a situation. He doestn't have any cricket sense. He is so 'cool', he is 'lazy'. The team will do better if a captain can be found." Hmmm. The prolific Amla marks his guard, and the out-of-form Smith is with him. Form is crucial ahead of the Tests. Taylor has the cherry."

That sums up Chris Gayle completely.

Acid
06-03-2010, 06:30 PM
SA 255/9 49.4 overs: Kallis 57, Duminy 51.

The 0-2 white wash in the 20/20s have been followed up by a 0-5 white wash in the ODIs.

With the amount of white washing going on it seems as if SA pulling a CEPEP on WI :(

Falcon
06-03-2010, 07:40 PM
lemme guess

gail fail
fielding was poor
bowling was insufficient.

Lemme ask again: GIBSON, the bowling coach, is still in he job?
gail resign yet before the Tests?

Acid
06-04-2010, 01:58 PM
Ottis Gibson played 2 test matches for WI and got 3 wickets and is coach - With all the great fast bowlers we had in the past how come we not using them.

If we ask Ambi & Walsh to be the bowling coaches and Greenidge & Haynes to be the batting coach and Logie to be the fielding coach I sure we could improve.

What is the status with Omar Khan? He still in the WI team? I doh hear nothing bout he anymore.

Falcon

Boy, two other Caribbean partners and an American came over by me today to watch the USA/England game. Before and after the match we watched cricket.

SA could have showed some mercy and enforce the follow on. Them men like they want to humiliate WI :(

Well the match draw and Chanderpaul got the man of the match. The man talked well in the interview.

This is much better than losing. It look like Rampaul got an injury because Gayle said he would not be in the Barbados test. It look like sacky blight Rampaul with that bad belly talk
