Matriarchal or Patriarchal

Is your family dominated by a matriarch or a patriarch?

I've found that my family is a matriarchal one. The men are not quiet but it is the women that run things in overall.

I think it is because there are more women born into the family than men that leads to the women dominating things. Of course there are those men that marry into the family, sadly some have ended in divorces/separations and even deaths. That keeps the women numbers high.

ummmm...me eh know dread when my grandad was alive he run things. That was my daddy's daddy. But when my dad's mother was alive she was queen ah de pack.

In my immediate family no one rules as we all do our own thing and come together for meaningful instances. :)

Matriarchal....I think. All decisions are shared by both. But my mom does most of the implementation of decisions and disciplining.

I wonder how this dynamic can be extrapolated to show differences in personality or propensities to certain decision making ability....

Are girls that grow up in Matriarchs more empowered, self sufficient? (or hot mouth like spicy ;))
Are guys that grow up in Matriarchs more sensitive to women?

Are girls that grow up in Patriarchs more likely to allow their boyfriend/ s.o to 'take the reins' in the relationship?
Are guys that grow up in Patriarchs more likely to find a woman that will allow them to assume that role in their relationship?

Although both makes decisions............Moms does the diciplining, runs the household, budget, and really is the voice in the family.........I think the men folk has allow this since the women are queens of their domain and efficiently takes care of her family.
