no way 'allyuh' should be losing to Zim.
Gail has lost the dressing room- regardless of the tripe Benn and Miller go talk about 'spirit'
Gail's leadership has proven itself in the long run to be as shoddy, slack and irresponsible as the performances.

Fire him now.

100% agree. The batting order needs to be reshuffled IMHO. I am no expert but the order not working, maybe Gayle should drop lower in the order or something.

Acid

I know Falcon might say Gayle should be dropped completely out of the team

But if he is in the team, he should bat lower when the ball is older. Due to his lack of foot movement he is a liability against the moving new ball.

And what was the reason they brought back Dwayne Smith in the team? Better they had put Nash to keep the middle order solid.

from our Champions LEague outing, there is a case for Navin Stewart, lil Bravo and Dave Mo. I sorry if the other islands get vex and say too many trinis but we've tried experimentation with the rest and it's not working.......20/20 may yet prove to be the most specialist of all the forms of cricket.

in a year when we'll host the 2020WC, and our last semi final appearance, this is very very poor indeed.

imagine you have people like Deo and Fletcher in an international outfit........stewwwwwwwwwps

Nash is good for Test, make all them racist 'caribbean' people vex and make him skippa too. HE and Selfishpaul is the only 2 candidates and Snakenarine done say he ent want it.

And then Carnival baby bravo will ask fans to support this spit?

Gail's leadership has proven itself in the long run to be as shoddy, slack and irresponsibleDe man cyah set ah proper field to help dry up some runs and have dem mediocre bowlers bowl to it. That's his downfall. Brawn, but no brains. Fletcher and Smith??? Just another wasted experiment. Ah wonder who'll be on board next under Gail's socalled "leaderhsip".

So yuh will drop Ramdin but den stay with Fletch and Deo??

Stewwwps, wake me up when we decide to go it alone.......dis is more silly everyday.

I think dropping Ramdin was probably a move to give him a wake up call; they expect more from him, and as vice captain he should bat more responsibly -- this guy scored 166 in a test match and has played more than 70 ODIs. Fletcher simply was there to don the gloves in his absence , I cannot see WI giving Fletcher any more chances; his domestic record is quite ordinary and his international record is appalling. As for Deonarine he has the best record of all the neophytes.

The WIBC , Cozier, coach Gibson et all said " There is no shortage of talent in the West Indies ". This means to anyone who follows WI cricket that there is a dearth of talent in the WI .
IMHO Barath, and Roach are good prospects ,Nash and Deonarine are reasonable prospects. and the rest should play at village level. I hope that coach Gibson is able to turn ordinary players into decent ones and good ones into great ones. He certainly was a success with England. I will give him a 12 month period before I pass any judgement.

Thats my 2 cents worth.

Stewwwps, wake me up when we decide to go it alone.......dis is more silly everyday.

I looked at a document (http://in.yimg.com/icccricket/pdfs/icc-associate-membership-criteria.pdf) outlining the requirements to become an associate member team It is not stringent as I expected and provides a template that once complied with should produce better players. The doc might be outdated if anyone has a more recent one please post it.

I believe that the ICC will waive the three yr affiliate member stipulation to allow TnT associate status almost immediately as long as we comply with the rest of the guidelines.

I myself will support this route but with a heavy heart , I know that it will improve the standard of cricket in Trinidad but will hurt the WI in the short term but it can prove to galvanize the remaining members of WI to get their act together.

What are your thoughts on this route

Falcon
03-07-2010, 07:42 AM
It was also due to chronic heartache that I made the decision to support going it alone.
We could never produce the variety of talent that you'd potentially see in a West Indian team but for the sake of good and fair governance, I am willing to lose many games and win a few. That's more than I'm getting with these bunch of jokers in the WI team and WICB boardroom anyhow.

At this rate, WI will never rule the world again in my lifetime- so might as well work with the best I have.
I have said many times before, there is no Caribbean black unity to fight for again, that's now done in the media........so what keeps these guys together?
Don't even dare use the 'P'(ride) word.

I'd go for the diamond earrings, gold chains, designer watches and lifelong financial security myself. Whats the beef? Whats the incentive beside good cricket sense?Isn't it interesting that Tony made his millions in order to buy diamond errings, gold chains, designer watches, and lifelong financial security as a commentator of West Indian cricket and never as a member of the squad? I wonder what would he have done if there were no West indian Cricket team about which to write his book? Maybe he'd have continued to play goalkeeper in hockey for Barbados - yuh tink?

My uncle represented WI and helped put our team on the map when we beat England for the first time in the 1950s, yet, like Valentine, he was cast off without a penny to his name when his career ended with the WI Team. What did all his "cricketing sense" get him?

Sometimes the commentators get up on their high horse and talk crap. I dont blame those boys and them one bit for playing and getting all the money they can from IPL and otherwise. Where else can a 22 year old from some little Island make one million US a year playing cricket?? Some say its not about money abd that they should be ashamed of theyself...It is about money when yuh chikdren have to attend school or get sick or yuh wife want a nice dress....Cozier ent go buy it fuh dem....
