Some things I am wondering, don't shoot me. I just asking.
1) I saw on another forum, rumours that Panday stepped down last night for Kamla, is that true.
2) Does the COP have enough candidates yet to contest every constituency?
3) If Valley, Hinds and Achong all scored poorly with their constituents, it seems to indicate that they did a bad job and weren't always around? At least one of them is on Youtube cussing up a girl. So why are some people saying they will accept no other PNM candidates but them? :shock: :shock: Why they not telling these people to FLUFF OFF as they said to you. :geek:
4) Does anybody really know the state of things on the ground. Because some ppl are saying it will be wide open, others seeing a landslide PNM victory.
5) If Anand Ramlogan cannot make up his mind yet, if he supports PNM, UNC or COP, isn't that a bad sign?
6) Why people dissing Wendy Fitzwilliam? She is a lovely intelligent girl. She is pretty and she won a pageant but that is just a part of who she is, not the whole person!
7) Why people re-drawing boundaries 1 month before elections... that looking funny to me!
8) PLEASE DO NOT CUSS ME. I FRAGILE. BUT: All these people who begging for Alliance, do you not wonder that if this lot cannot agree now, *** will happen if they take power. Suppose they reach in Government, and every day is backstabbing between Panday, Dooks and Ramesh.
9) UNC says they not fighting Tobago? But I thought this DNA outfit was joining the alliance?
10) On this 4 days to Divali thing, not being funny, but if you use that as an excuse not to vote, you really dotish. Elections could be on your birthday, you could spare a couple hours to vote. Be vex, but still vote :shock:

With these questions you have demonstrated through clarity of thought and clarity of expression that you are no political dunce.
You have asked the sensible questions. However, sensible questions in T&T are often embarrassing because they cannot be answered without acknowledging the truth.
I commend you as a messenger of rational thought and hope that people get your message, rather than shooting the messenger.

Achong for all his crudity was still popular with the PNM grassroots. In fact they like the fact he cuss out the pundit. Also as regard Valley and Hinds that assumes the poll was right.

PArtially agree. I dont know about her ability but I dont think being pageant winner is a negative.

I didnt know this , where you heard it ? an explanation however could be that all the peole who registered recent have thrown the number of elector in each consituency out of balance. (all seats supposed to be roughly equal in number of electors) Si they have to redraw the boundareis to ensure that.

1. They short sighted . All they want is to beat the PNM.
2. They fully know that there will be backstabbing afterwards , but they expect thier man to win that fight.

Apparantly DNA hasnt actually joined as yet. See todays express.. Meighoo apparantly storm out of a meeting with Panday.

Dem is good good questions vamps. Yu eh no dunce. If de whole nation should put on dey tinking caps an ask de same questions, they would vote "sensible" Me too couldnt see why dem PNM faithful want de same candidates who, dey claim, didn´t do anything for dem.It look like money talking tu me. PNm an UNC seem to have a lot of internal conflicts. They not stable an elections just a month away. Ah hope all dem hindus go out an vote also. Why we cahdo like in developed countries? Yo can cast yu vote weeks earlier at de post offices or other designated places. Yu can even cast it if yu living abroad. No need for birth certificate, passport, an what have yo. Yu regestered, yu get a notice from de government, yu tek yu ID and yu do yu duty. No hours long line etc etc etc. Everyone registered on de net and ticked off after voting!!

She made a stupid statement to a catholic school that it is ok to have a baby if you are not married and by getting pregnant for a Jamaican man she said to all Trini men you are not good enough for me

anyhow, question #8 is the big one 4 me...i agree with u 100%...dey not thinkin far ahead to post-election...dey not thinkin dat if dey fall apart after is back to d polls and that everything will b in a worse state then than they are now.
also, Nirad Tiwarie on the radio made a good point today..that if they join and they win a few thousand more votes (collecitvely) in couva an caroni and naparima, but they lose (collectively) a few thousand in st. joseph an Sj/barataria and Mayaro, they lose the election...because the reality is that there are ppl who will not vote for any alliance that involves Panday at the head or pulling the strings of the head (me being one such)...doh talk fuh if RLM rejoins...

Wendy is an intelligent young woman. Once given the opportunity, she would be an asset to any office she runs for........as for the Jamaican? Love conquers all! However, she made a mistake to promote unwed pregnancy altogether. My question " name any one politician who never made a mistake / mistakes?"

Not true. Panday is still in charge of the UNC. To my knowledge an official leader for the UNC Alliance has not yet been finalized. Whoever it is, Panday still remains as leader of the UNC; just not of the Alliance. I personally don't like that setup as it seems it will be one of his deputies who will be leading the Alliance.
2) Does the COP have enough candidates yet to contest every constituency?
That's what they say. But patience; they will reveal the list this weekend along with the UNC Alliance and PNM.

Because the people just want them and nobody else regardless of how badly they performed. Well, Manning has to learn to listen to the people. He's isolating his own supporters as it is.

Depends on the constituency. In some parts of the country there is a massive showing of support for the COP sufficiently so to take the seat if all goes well. In others, it seems they will just split the vote resulting in a PNM victory. Landslide though? I have my doubts. I think the PNM might win, but not by a "landslide".

Anand Ramlogan was approached by all three political parties. According to a report in the Guardian, it seemed to me that he had not responded to any at the time mostly because he was not sure if the time was right for him to get into politics. According to today's Express, he has decided to run for the COP in Tabaquite. But even if he was undecided I see nothing wrong with that. The political landscape is in upheaval and I expect a lot of people are wondering who would be the best option to support. Point is; he's decided now.

I haven't dissed her so I can't answer that. But I honestly don't care about the pageant at this point. Whatever her political choices are, they are her right.

Exactly why I support the COP's position of not joining the Alliance. I don't see the Alliance as being suited to taking power. I personally see the Alliance in government as fracturing, resulting in another election that will have the PNM boosted even more than it is right now.

I don't think the DNA is joining the Alliance at this point. But you're right, UNC has said they will not fight Tobago because they do not want to "split the vote".

The outrage isn't because people aren't willing to vote whenever it is they have to vote. They will vote either way. The outrage is because Manning would never call elections during Lent, or in the days before Christmas. It is a mark if disrespect to the Hindu community. Elections are about more than taking two hours to go stain your finger. For a lot of people it involves a lot of emotional and physical dedication that puts a drain on the body. Fasting does the same thing.

and this justifies her as stupid? Many iconic political/social leaders have said stupid things in the past, from para-digum, to breakfasses, and the pipes and fittings when one political icon was drunk in the parliament, to some of the things Rowleys says on stage... Don't forget to put your X by the balisier... and we all still look past these things, as even the most intelligent proclaims undenaiable flatus when they are ready.
I think Wendy is a great person to go up despite what many may say, and I wish her all the best

I live in Canada and married a Jamaican/English. We divorced and then I married a French Canadian. We separated and now I live with a Canadian woman. If memory serves me correctly, Wendy met this fella whilst living and working in Jamaica. That would show that regardless of their worthiness Trini men would have been in short supply where she resided.
Or maybe I'm the fool? Perhaps I should have ignored my feelings until I found a good Trini woman to settle with...in Canada. Or maybe I should have gone "home" to find a wife...
Now thinkin of a next forumite...ah wonder if Holland eh have no good Trini men...

she had a baby with the jamaican who is rumoured to have a thing for beauty queens...then when she start to show...everybody an dey tanty want to no bout she baby daddy...so d files buss...
at the time, she was part of the guardian's thing where they went to schools and talk to students...and she told the girls that theres nothin wrong with havin a child out of wedlock...
thing is...wendy is a successful 30-sumtin yo woman and if she decide to have a child...daz really her business...i doh think it was too smart to tell d school children that, but who knows the context of the discussion at the time...

Correct...... more than that..... about 2 weeks ago the UNC had a meeting and offically replaced the UNC symbol with the UNC Alliance symbol. So basically its simply the six smaller parties putting up people on the UNc ticket. as you said.
also, how many ppl frm these small parties are going to be given "safe seats" to run for?

ZERO Casson in St. Joseph, Cadiz in one of the Diego Martin and I am not sure about Alvarez and Smith. Why would you give them safe seats? What have they brought to the party? And didn't the NAR executive come out and say dey eh know wha Casson talkin about with dis unity ting.

dey just tryin to show that UNC-A is a representation of the entire country wit all dem mix... or as dey say is "unity"
unity is mor than face value...and if it real it will last the 5 yrs with no problems...but i highly doubt that that is going to happen...
