You have to take it one step at a time. Be aware of what you are eating. Eat smaller portions, drink more water, real juices and find an exercise rountine that you would enjoy. You can probably buy an exercise equipment that you can use at home or you find an exercise partner.

Meals should be 1/3 veggies plus a treadmill is the best invention- especially in places that the weather sucks(e.g. Canada). Every 2 days I try to do 20 min jogging.

More diet than exercise! Since i had baby last year, i've lost 18lbs in total :) I still have about 5lbs to go but sometimes i can't help but eat my mommy's roti everyday...
Coke is your downfall becos it has so much sugar! Not all carbs are bad!
Exercise is your friend and i've come to love spins :) you can try other things like swimming, jogging, etc that helps you to do enough cardio. But you just can't start off hot and then drop, make a gradual increase and try to make it become part of your lifestyle.
Oh, i've also come to love the Wii Fit - esp the yoga :p

Moderation is the key. Someone said nuts were good to eat. During xmas I ate maybe 3 bottles of nuts (roated peanuts & cashews). I gained 5 lbs!

I've lost and kept off weight over the past 9 years and I can tell you it's NOT easy, it takes daily discipline and perseverance.
I've cut back on carbs (not eliminate them). So instead of eating half a roti I would eat quarter lol
Instead of two cups of rice I would eat one (you have to measure otherwise you tend to lie to yourself about how much you're eating)
If I have any treats I would save that for the weekend, during the week I try to be more disciplined.
Half my plate is usually full of veggies, quarter of meat and a quarter of carbs.
Drink plenty water (atleast 6 cups), exercise (about 30 mins) atleast 3 times a week.
You have to get your heart rate up, taking a stroll through the forest doesn't work, although it's good for the mental health
Most of all, don't give up after 2 weeks, even when the scale doesn't budge. It takes time

I never had weight issues (genes NOT workout!). Right after every pregnancy (within days) I was able to fit in my old jeans but in my opinion keeping fit should be a lifestyle, NOT for the purpose of losing weight otherwise if you do have the tendency of putting on weight and you stop right after you lose the desired amount of pounds, you will put them right back within weeks/months.
