I can make boiled sweets cause its just lots of sugar and glucose syrup. What Im finding difficult is the flavoring of the tomatoe balls. I know its not tomatoe flavor. I was thinking of putting a can of red sweet drink in it....and boiling the life out of it...
good luck......keep stirring.....else it go burn ;)

Paradise plums and tomatoe balls are different....the tomato ball is a sour sweet flavor with a sugar coating.
I managed some this weekend....well kinda...I got some oranage sweet drink and made some syrup which later hardened into candy...that is now welded itself to my baking tray....I forget to grease it up so it wouldna stick! :D

I remember tomatoe being just that when I was young; when did the convention change to tomato? :|

I always spelt it Tomatoe.....I think the correct way is without the 'e' at the end...

  very funny!
My sis wet the baking tray with cold water when making "sugar" type candies, so it don't stick to the tray.
So tell me... is "sours" the same as those balls you're talking bout? :D

I think its called sours...but not totally sure. I am going to try the same boiling process this weekend but this time with coco cola and vanilla flavor. Remember the vanilla flavor coke...dunno if it still around...should be good.
Will take the tip of cold water on baking tray....thanks! :D
