May not have gone about things in the way most people approved, but at the end of the day- his animals were saved from cruel days and nights on the street.



Hikmet Ahamad, the animal lover who for many years lobbied for help to care for stray dogs and cats, was found dead at the sanctuary he built for homeless animals in South Oropouche on Monday.
Ahamad’s charred remains were found beneath a pile of garbage by police officers on Monday morning.

the Animal Welfare Network and TTSPCA - Northern Branch are working together with the police re: the recent death of Hikmet Ahamad, and the animals left behind at the sanctuary he built in South Oropouche.

We understand that there are aproximately 12 dogs - not the 150 reported, however, we are verifying this at the moment - we will keep you posted.
