Happy Divali (belated)

[I M Back]

Divali is the last salvation of my soul
For what soul have I without family
The deya I light represents the fire that burns
In the generations of my DNA
So that my loved ones are linked
To my loved ones henceforth
Through that ritual of family
That eludes mortality

The devotional songs I sing
Have no syntax significance
But evoke in me the memories
Of a lost loving caregiver
Who sang the words that I don't understand
To a melody I'll forever remeber
With tears in my eyes
