The Right Brain vs Left Brain test ... do you see the dancer turning clockwise or anti-clockwise?
If clockwise, then you use more of the right side of the brain and vice versa.
Most of us would see the dancer turning anti-clockwise though you can try to focus and change the direction; see if you can do it.
This theory of the structure and functions of the mind suggests that the two different sides of the brain control two different "modes" of thinking. It also suggests that each of us prefers one mode over the other.
Experimentation has shown that the two different sides, or hemispheres, of the brain are responsible for different manners of thinking. The following table illustrates the differences between left-brain and right-brain thinking:
LEFT BRAIN FUNCTIONS...................................RIGHT BRAIN FUNCTIONS
uses logic............................................. ......uses feeling
detail oriented.......................................... ..."big picture" oriented
facts rule.............................................. ......imagination rules
words and language........................................sy mbols and images
present and past...........................................pre sent and future
math and science..........................................p hilosophy & religion
can comprehend........................................ ...can "get it" (i.e. meaning)
knowing........................................... .........believes
acknowledges...................................... ........appreciates
order/pattern perception................................spatial perception
knows object name.......................................knows object function
reality based............................................. .fantasy based
forms strategies........................................ .presents possibilities
practical......................................... ..........impetuous
safe.............................................. ..........risk taking
Most individuals have a distinct preference for one of these styles of thinking. Some, however, are more whole-brained and equally adept at both modes. In general, schools tend to favor left-brain modes of thinking, while downplaying the right-brain ones. Left-brain scholastic subjects focus on logical thinking, analysis, and accuracy. Right-brained subjects, on the other hand, focus on aesthetics, feeling, and creativity.
Now I saw it move clockwise, but i can see it move anti-clockwise if i try really hard and concentrate.
I'm curious if most people are lefty's or righty's
what are you?
