Firstly, I hope this is not against the forum rules, because I admit that I didn't read them.

Anyway, as far as I can tell (as a fellow forum owner), this post should be ok.

I've been living in China for some time now which is a very interesting place.
With the Beijing Olympics coming up next summer, I figured that interest in China should be higher than usual.

I created a MSN group to bring together English-speaking Chinese with non-Chinese from around the world.
To join the group, all you need to do is add an email address to your contact list: group182999@xiaoi.com
Once you do that, all instant messages you send to the group ID will be sent to all the online members. Therefore it's just like a chatroom, but utilizing MSN.

Our group is still a little small - approximately 42 members, but I expect that it will grow much larger with time.

If any of you are interested in China, I think this is a great way to learn more or at least to interact with English-speaking native Chinese. Don't forget that China is 12 hours ahead of T&T/ 8-)

Haha, and just to let you know, I am a Trini, which is why I decide to post here.

Cool, well if you have any questions you can just post them in this thread as I will check back from time to time. Please try to be polite and avoid any expressions like "Chinee" or whatnot.

Feel free to share the group's email address with anyone you think might be interested. I'll really appreciate it.

Mods, if this post is inappropriate, please forgive me, and feel free to move or delete it.
Thanks for your time.

Welcome

may i ask wat does your username mean?

Sure my username can be broken down as follows:
da - big
xue - school
'daxue' together means big school --> university
ying yu - English

Therefore everything together daxueyingyu means university English which is also the name of a website I originally setup for my students.

Haha, any interest in joining our MSN group?

Oh, we also have a forum, but I didn't know if it was suitable for me to post a link on another forum so I didn't include that. If you're interested in China or Chinese culture/language though, then you should definitely have a look. Maybe you can PM me or click the picture in my sig for the forum.

Stewwwps, if yuh did post a few months ago, we could have met up for a small lime when I was over there...oh well....

anyhow, welcome, and as far as I can see, people getting info from your group may not be a problem, but your signature, we'd ask you to remove it.
It is policy that we don't link to other online forums.

welcome and best wishes. :)

Well not all of the dishes will have soy sauce, ginger, garlic etc. so I manage.
Here most of the dishes for me are either hit or miss - there are some that I absolutely love, and others that I can't stand.

Anyway, recently I have been cooking for myself a lot, so I wouldn't consider my diet to consist of too much Chinese food.

Haha, oh and did I mention that if you join the group, but then later don't want to participate that you can simply block it or delete it from your contact list? Anyway, you might be pleasantly surprised, so I hope some of you will give it a try.
