Here nah.......anybody here does fish in trinidad?
Where is the best places to go, besides down the islands,............places where you could just pick up and go.......

Any ideas anyone :?:

When yuh organise, ah cud go with u? Always wanted to try fishing again. Only ever did it while I was down the islands.

down d islands really is d best place to fish....yuh must catch something there even if is bait self.........like mehself :roll:

i like fishing too..you cud go toco in the back of the light house..you can go (salibay) i eh no if that spelt correct.on the rocks.you can go by the bridge in manzinalla where the river meets the sea jus b4 you reach mayaro.you can either fish in the river or the river mouth. both nice spots.catfish an grantikie present stingray also.chagaramas on the whole is nice.by the alluminum factory i caught some nice reds there pauge,cutlass fish,grunt.newyas wen you goin check mih lol

i went by small boats sunday evening but only catch small fish..

If yuh doh have a boat yuh cud go macqueripe (sp?) on d rocks pretty ok fishing there...but u hadda catch yuh live bait first (which not hard cuz it have plenty) or pieces of dead fish then go futher up the rocks and cast out yuh line...caught grouper and king/carite there already

It also have north coast rock yuh hadda drive up a big hill in d back a deigo and somehow u end up walkin along this longg path then repel down the side of a mountain down about 6 feet on a rope to a big rock that juts out. The water below is about 60-90ft deep and i've caught from moonshine to snapper and even a turtle by accident...

if yuh have access to a boat... trolling (driving the boat very slowly) in the nancy (bay is pretty good depending on the time of year u cud use artificial or live bait here..but during the fishing season it is chock a block ful of boats and they pretty territorial :oops:
caught some 20-30lb yellow fin cavali here...quite the battle ..them ting stubborn! and plenty basheen!

Also shodo (sp?) full a fish, but is open sea and kinda rough if u not accustommed u may not like it..but wahoo and the like abound!
try the bays right before the bocas 1 and 2 for banking ('parking' the boat in one spot)...early in the morning 5-6am red fish eating d hook wit nuttin on it ..cavali both yellow an blue fin can be found..caught a 30lb grandtikye (sp?) here most fun i ever had...

anybody that has a chance to go fishing...i highly recommend it ...its quite the sport and u see amazing sights...
love to see the dolphins swim along side, massive sting rays, breathtaking cliffs and coastline of trinidad...how the water gets eerily calm before rain starts to fall...certain times of the year massive migrations of jellyfish cover the water in every direction....at night bio-luminscent fish give off light sparkling every which way...

of course there are the horror stories of hooks caught in compromising places, falling off the rocks, over side of a boat, loosing an anchor, running aground in shallow water, engine malfunctions, etc etc...but overall much fun.. :lol:

hmmm das east coast...so yuh open to some serious big fish on dat side from the atlantic...
an yuh know there are certain types of sharks that like brackish water! ...

i never fish by d river mouth so i cyah help yuh dey..but if i had to guess...get some jack or squid, live herring or joshua wud prolly catch anyting

i hear d river suppose to have some rell big fish(dunno wat kind) but you have to use live bait.....when i use normal bait there i alway catch either catfish or choof-choof.......waste of time!
