View Full Version : WITH HUMILITY I SUBMIT MY ELECTIONS PREDICTIONS ARE RIGHT

Beloved Citizens and Residents of The Great Republic of Trinidad and Tobago,greetings on this election day to you,your families,friends and acquaintances;
may you all prosper in health and grow some more in good conscience and wisdom now.
It is my first time here because I never knew this forum existed.
I found this forum yesterday.
My purpose here is this: I do hope to combine my efforts with your efforts and together we shall do all we possibly can to serve our country and move it forward so that we ,as a people, can be morally forced by good conscience to demand and bring out the best in ourselves and each other. If we fail to do so then what in the world are we doing here?
Yesterday I sent an EMAIL to the editor predicting the election results and I asked the editor not to publish the letter until after the elections because I did not want to taint the polls by my predictions.
I have correctly predicted every election in the USA and Trinidad and Tobago since President Carter was elected and the only one which I did not predict right was the 18-18 tie which means I was neither wrong no right ,but I have to admit ,that I could never have seen that result no matter how much I calculated and mined the data!
It is now well after 9:PM and the polls are closed and my prediction is ( as can be verified by the letter to the editor yesterday before elections) that the COP and the UNCA shall together win a minority under the PNM in Trinidad. The PNM shall win the Tobago seats.
The reason why is very simple: The young people who came out to vote did not vote for the COP and the UNCA because they could not identify with the candidates who seemed aloof and beyond them socially except for Gypsy,Dookeran,Bissessar and the Pandays.
The UNCA'S Jack Warner is not popular with young people because they do not really know him despite all he has done for soccer and the Soca Warriors but they could identify with Mr .Manning and company whether you accept it or not it is the facts jack!
The older swing voters do not like any of the parties for they have ," been there and done that and heard the same old clap-trap of promises and accusations and counter accusations at every election since King hatchet was a little hammer" in particular because they see all of them as corrupt and playing games at election time but they will vote for the PNM or not vote at all because they feel that the opposition does not have enough sense to unite against the PNM therefore they cannot offer the country the unity it needs so they will stick with what they know and not venture to wonder and chance
" what they will get!"
No change is better than unknown change.
That is their rationale not mine! Mr .Manning shall win and try to bring in outside help to handle the " WORST".
"WORST" refers to run-away crime, high food prices ,corruption and traffic congestion.
I am never wrong in my election predictions ( I say this with humility )so I do hope in the future you folks take me seriously!
What will they ( PNM ) do with their majority ? Will they invite the COP join the PNM in moving the country forward ? or the UNCA ?
That I cannot say but I will say this: Some kind of " Unity Government" is needed to stop the bitterness which follows every election and holds the country back.Mr .Manning may well see the wisdom of brining the best people for the job from the private sector or the opposition parties and so breaking the cycle of disunity and racial divide in this country and in so doing he shall go down in history as a great Statesman.
I will tell you this: whatever they decide it is my prayer that they form ( if Mr.manning and company can rise above the Party hacks and be a Statesmen and women by putting Trinidad and Tobago first) a government of "INCLUSION" and not a government of
" exclusion " or " omission" because both sides have folks who can make a great contribution to the great movement forward of our country to a world where oil shall not be "KING" for long !
Please, wake up to the reality of the bio-fuels and the Hydrogen and fuel cell cars scheduled to come into main stream production by 2010 and the price and importance of oil shall plummet back to $9.00 a barrel and the cost of food will soars as we attempt to face a brave new world of technology which is unfolding before us with dinosaur methods an attitudes; we need to have a government of unity which shall unite the people and the country with the government and move us forward into the 21St Century. We need to wake up because those with money will run to the USA and Canada and we the people shall be left behind as the country spirals downward towards becoming the new Haiti of the region.
Just look around you and ask ,How many folks are on the Internet ? How many folks have a computer? How many folks are understanding and using the new technologies except for the " GUNS" in the hands of murderers!
This may well be our last hope and gasp!
If we fail here to have a government of Unity and " inclusion" which cares for this country and its people we shall regress into chaos and be the new Haiti of the Region.
Thank you folks for reading this far and I do appreciate your guidance, corrections and opinions.

Panday did not help the UNCA by telling COP voters to go to hell and that if their family members are murdered in the future it's their fault. Panday should know you don't win votes like that.

Anyone cudda tell you tht pnm was going to win.
So wht was your prediction again?

Harry Williamn

I ,quite frankly, fully agree with you but may I suggest that you please, take a look at the efforts made by the COP and the UNC and tell me if they actually believed that " anyone cudda predicted a PNM victory " and a COP getting a "NADS" ?
Not a Darn Seat = NADS.
It is so easy to say so after the fact but it is not my concern to bask in the right but it is my purpose to move us forward one person at a time and then maybe a politically educated voter may not be easily fooled and may begin to ask the hard questions such as:
" Where has the ($55,000,000,000) which TNT earned back in 1973 gone ?"
Is there ever going to be a real investigation into those oil earnings and prosecution and restititution of the money by property seziures and real solid hard time in jail for the thieves ? Or is it well ."time pass already ?"
That is enough money to give everyone who registered to vote today TT$ 330,000.000 and where is the money ?
Now we see another oil boom and money flowing like water with Trinidad and Tobago having ( at present ) Reserves of foreign exchange and gold: $6.609 billion (2006 est.) ...how shall this money be spent and how much of that money shall leave our shores for foreign banks ? If every one had a computer like we do and could surf the net and just a handful sought answers to these questions we shall end up with an informed electorate which shall rise above the " Rum and Roti and (racially divided voting )Politics" which has driven would be Great Statesmen and women from Politics and robbed our country of great and hounourable service in the process meanwhile such ignorance made sure that most of our leaders are not the best of the best but the worst of the worst ?????
Please,enlighten me on that!

Dear "Solachica ":
Thank you for taking the time to read the post and what does it matter if you were not even born in 1973? Actually it makes the crimes of theft and corruption worst because they committed crimes against an unborn child( criems against the future generations) who was helpless to do anything to protect their very future but now you are here you can ask the hard questions and investigate via the net and the archives and the oppostion folks as to what happened to the ( $ 55.000,000,000 in US ) this country earned during the oil boom in 1973 ?
Your parents ducked their responsibilty to you and now it falls upon you and your generation to act now and do something about it so as to stop this from happening right now again with the oil money because it is the last of it and if they did not squander and pluder the oil money you will have not been facing the horrible traffic conditions ,vicious crine waves, and high food prices which obtains today.
So think again and take responsibility for it is your future and your kids future.
Now show me where I am wrong because I am not perfect.

I cyar understand if people predicted a PNM victory in the elections, why are you feeling sour now? Ah mean if you look at previous comments before November 5th, I knew UNC would of needed a miracle to win it and I certainly didn't expect COP to form the government. How many times we told Light Panday wasn't going to be the next prime minister...he shouldn't be shocked or disappointed by something he knew was already going to happen.

Hope and wild fantasies (COP winning 21 then 41 seats) have a tendency to displace rational thought.

I remember when so many persons were saying and writing that the PNM was going to lose Lopinot/Bon Air West! This when the PNM advantage over the UNC was of the order of 30,000 to 8,000 when looking at the 2002 results for the 2 Arouca seats.

I am doing an analysis of where the PNM lost the 8,900 votes when comparing the 2002 results with 2007....practically all of it was in Diego Martin, St. Anns and Tobago. I will show in tableau form when complete.

This means that the PNM vote remained rock solid throughout the rest of Trinidad with slight increases in some locales.....this is really quite impressive considering that they were the incumbent facing a concerted assault from 2 parties.

Also, when looking at it by polling divisions if the constituencies were not re-configured, the PNM would have won Nariva, Barataria/San Juan, St. Joseph Fyzabad and Pointe-a-Pierre in addition to those that they won in 2002.

This means that the results in a 36 seat Parliament would have been 25 : 11 and the PNM would have had a 2/3 majority. This means that only George Chambers of 1981 would have done better.

So the licks that Manning delivered in this election was truly considerable.

It also points out that the COP is an East Indian dominated party anchored in Central Trinidad with hard ties to the Hindu community. This is their real base.....not North West Trinidad.

In this regard the PNM is much more inclusive than either the COP or the UNC in their ethnographic. COP and UNC candidates lost their deposits in several constituencies while no PNM candidate lost theirs.

In fact the UNC outdid the COP in Laventille and the COP was only in the hundreds in Tobago.

This is why I will continue to argue that Dookeran, Yetming and Baksh made a strategic error by going to the West Moorings crowd too early to gain their support instead of concentrating in Central and South Trinidad. He could have pulled off St. Augustine, Caroni Central and Tabaquite and be in parliament.

....but what the hell do I know....I am just a pussy cat with a gun.
