Someone sent me this email: and the sender is newsletter@unc.org.tt

If you want change and a better country, make sure your vote works hardest for you, your family and your country when you go and vote on Monday.

For months now the people of Trinidad and Tobago have been crying out for change. And for the past few weeks they have been looking at which out of the UNC/Alliance and COP had the best chance of beating Patrick Manning and his PNM.

Well now we have the answer, because it has been confirmed that COP cannot win – all the evidence is now pointing to a 2 horse race between UNCA and the PNM. COP will not win a single seat, but as things stand they are likely to get sufficient votes to prevent the UNCA from winning and thus allow the PNM to win again.

The latest findings of NACTA’s ongoing opinion tracking poll show the general election is turning out to be a battle between the ruling PNM and opposition UNCA
for control of the government. Their series of polls has shown steady movement away from COP and people saying that they were still undecided towards the UNC/Alliance. It is expected that the next release of poll findings at the weekend will show an even bigger movement to the UNCA.

NACTA is not affiliated with any political party and has developed a reputation of
accurately predicting the outcome of all the elections in Trinidad and Tobago since 1995.

Currently, as of 30th October, the prediction is 16 seats for the PNM, 15 seats for UNCA, nothing for COP, with 10 seats still too close to call.

According to the poll COP is losing support over its ‘going it alone’ approach which has upset its followers who are migrating towards the UNC. Many COP supporters are repatriating back to the UNCA because they feel the COP has betrayed them by opposing unity with UNCA to defeat the PNM. Undecided voters are also breaking for the UNCA because they feel that party has a better chance than COP of unseating the PNM.

The results of the poll suggest that if the remaining COP supporters were to return to the UNCA, the party would create the biggest upset in the history of Trinidad and Tobago elections.

So it is clear now that voting for COP will split the anti-government vote and let PNM win again.

The big question now is whether enough COP supporters realise this before it is too late and do the right thing for the country by switching their vote to the UNC/Alliance for this election.

It’s now close to make-your-mind-up time. The election is tightening but COP voters still hold the outcome in their hands. Many have already switched their support to the People’s Party. Join them, because there is a very real choice to be made now for the future of our country.

That choice is either to vote COP, thus splitting the opposition vote, and therefore getting PNM again, with all the misery for our country and citizens that would entail.

Or, for this election only, vote UNCA and deliver the change of government the country is crying out for.

So now it’s up to you.

And please, tell others. Forward this email on to everyone you know in Trinidad and Tobago. Ask them to do the right thing for our country by joining together. Tell them it’s for the sake of our country. There’s a momentum building. Get on board and join the winning party now.

You know that you would never forgive yourself if COP voters allowed the PNM to win again – maybe even by just one seat, 21-20. So, for the good of the country, vote UNC/Alliance on Monday.

Because Trinidad and Tobago deserves better.

I see that the UNCA is trying a last-ditch attempt at winning this election. Do you all think that this will work? I think that it could but it may be a little too late. Some people who are really fed up with the PNM may try to go UNC thinking that the COP will not win so why vote for them. I think COP supporters are floaters

Another last ditched effort by the UNC administration. I might begin to feel sorry for them at the end of the day.

I was wondering that one myself. They seem to have administrators or mods in their ranks

COP took the emails addresses from the UNC web site when that UNC had a forum on that site, I know this because in the early stages of the formation of the COP I use to get emails from the COP informing me of their launch of this new COP party and I never gave COP my email, so that is how COP did it.

If anyone here has ever registered to use the UNC forum when it was up that is one way you may have gotten a email from them.

I got it and was wondering myself. When it comes to unethical behaviour the UNC is hard to beat.

I got emails from the UNC before but only visited the site and not their forum. I also get unsolicited emails from a local real estate agent. I remember that I received an email from somebody on this forum so I supposed that someone here (who works for the UNC) has access to our emails and is taking advantage of it.

As I said one way the UNC could of gotten your email is if you did registrar to use their site you had to put a email address and that is how they could of gotten it, I know I did but I have gotten COP emails and that was due to when the COP had the break with UNC the COP people used those email addresses from the UNC forum to send out email in favor of Dookeran and asking for support for the COP.

I guess there are COP supporters and UNC supporters on most forums so they can use get these emails from different sites and send out information as to what is going on with there respective parties. I did registrar for the PNM site also and all I ever received was one issue of the PNM Magnum newsletter nothing more after that, seem PNM is not really into using emails as a means of soliciting support.

I don't see it as a major issue it is done all over the world with political parties once you go on their sites and put in a email address, I have even gotten emails from Hillary Clinton because I have visited her site to see what she had to say.
