I have always been fascinated seeking answers to questions, perhaps, at least this is my hope, a few forumites will offer their perception of loving in spite of....loving because.....
Without being rhetorical, the measure of love is to love in spite of and not because, of course, I can also state love is based on sacrifice. Need to hear from men/women who truly value love. Anxiously await your replies.

Why would u say the measure of love is to love in spite of?
How is loving bec any less valid?

The comparison relative to the question loving in spite deals with one erring in whatever form, and is still loved in spite of.... Now I'm not referring to a mother, father or parent love for their children. But the relationship between two adults. Ever so often I would hear the remark I love XYZ because he/she is this or that.....

To love because... example, they're blonde, have good legs, or a brilliant intellect, but they've changed the colour of their hair to red/black, started gaining weight, or started to forget things. The relationship will usually end because the person I loved no longer exists.

To love in spite of...example, discovered they have been lying by omission, or half truths, been unfaithful, and are not the person I thought them to be? Yet, still love them. In other words loving in spite of...

Janus, the Roman god of thresholds,
provides an appropriate focus for reflection when you are
embarking upon a new phase in your life. He is often depicted
with two faces - one of a child liking forward into the future
and one of a bearded old man looking into the past.
Visualise yourself standing in a doorway, on the threshold of
your new venture. Standing beside you is Janus. Looking behind
you, survey your past and ask the old face of Janus to recount
the most important lessons you have gathered from your
previous experiences. Then look forward and ask the young
face of Janus for some positive energy for the future.
Encouraged by his hopefulness, set out on your journey.

Changing perspectives on a situation can help to resolve the difficulties it presents.
First visualise the situation in your mind in full detail. Then shift your perspective by
bringing the background to the foreground and vice versa. How does this alter your
understanding of the situation from an other person's viewpoint?

Throughout our lives we perform various
social roles. If we are not careful, we can
find ourselves identifying too closely with a

What are the roles you currently associate

If you are kind, people will accuse you of selfish motives; be kind anyway. The good you do today, most people will forget, do good anyway.
