What happen how nobody boasting about the 5,000 people at Woodford Square yesterday?
The obscenity from Suren Capildeo
The idiot describing his sexual experience with a donkey
And the educated fool declaring himself Prime Minister from yesterday

Light, were you here when the discussion on crowd don't win vote was on the table?
I believe that when the COP said they were looking for bright, young individuals you felt left out. Am I right here?
I still waiting to hear if you old enough to vote.

crowd don't win election but it shows the strength of your party and if you gone from 35,000 to 5,000 in 2 months your party dead.

LOL, crowd does show strength?
Ok, lets take away Beenie and all you foreign acts, take away the free transport and how much of Aranjuez you think you really would have gotten?
Don't bring a concert crowd and expect me to buy that you automatically have all their support. Its not a bad ploy to bring them with entertainment then talk to them there but you wouldn't be able to pull half that crowd without any help.
Stay in school Light.

Again I am seeing people attacking the UNCA for their way of attracting crowds but no one talking about the PNM and their bukkish ways of if you don't turn up no more CEPEP or URP work for you.....Well I was among the crowd that was down at the square but I left after Ashvini spoke because he feel dat he Anand and Prakask would win de election for dem...now get me straight I admire the way Prakash conducted his campaign and dat man have my respect but the other two I lost whatever respect I had for dem.BTW I would be helping out on Monday in making sure the volunteers for COP in the different polling stations are ok since I made a commitment a few weeks ago howqever that does not mean that I would be voting for the COP.

Fair enough, it's great to see that you honoured your commitment to them even though they didn't win your vote.

CM do not get offended by me saying this okay, this election is not about new politics, it is about protecting the Country from one man name Patrick Manning and hence the reason the COP has lost support and will lose a lot more tomorrow.
Maybe the COP will rally for the next 5 years, I hope they do and that they become a force to be reckoned with, however your leader is due to depart soon after the election to accept a new job in another Country. Do you know what that tells me? It tells me that Dookeran never expected to win his seat far more the election and that is why he has reportedly accepted that new job.
That is why I left the COP and a lot of people will too.

Peanut, I don't take offense. This has been a learning experience if not anything else for me. Where else can you get a cross section of every trend of thought, ever political story and even more valuable, the experiences of others through previous administrations?
I;m glad we can talk on this level without the need for the jabs since you and me see to get 'way sometimes.
I agree Manning needs to go but like I said before there is no clear line to who will replace him should the UNC win. In my eyes that is cat-in-bag politics. Both Bas and Jack are seen as tainted goods in different sections of the electorate. The inability of the UNC to get along with themselves is also a big part to my decision. Beat the PNM all you want, they close ranks fast and don't fracture easily, at least not in the eyes of the public. The UNC has the same formula right now that they did when they lost the government and they have more variables in the mix which could set this off.
The new politics is a taking of the country back to the people. I seriously believe that we are the only ones that can shape our destiny here and some government control needs to be returned to the public.
As far as the leader of the COP leaving for Canada to take up a job, that is ole talk. He has had a lot of job offers and turned them all down and saif so himself yesterday. When you good, people want you. I'm sure should Bas and Patrick leave office they will have stuff lined up as well.

I don't know about Bas, but Patrick has already selected a site to build his Church in South Trinidad.

Bas said he would write a book about politics from the 40's to today. If he writes anything like how he talks then I would buy it.

You know, I don't know how much it was, and it was almost guaranteed quite a bit smaller than UNCA and PNM...but it was definately a LOT more than 5,000. I was there and can say that. Were you there to make the judgement of 5,000?
And you were the same one saying they didn't even have 35,000 at the last Woodford Square meeting, but now they did?
Well yes.

No Light, YOU were the one saying they didn't have 35,000. I stick to that they did. But magically now you're saying they had 35,000? Try sticking to your story.
So - head count by whom?
cm103
11-04-2007, 11:42 AM
Light, I am convinced that you still in primary school
Sirus asked if you was the one disputing the original number of 35,000 for the Real Red rally and now you screaming that it drop from that same number to 5,000.
Quote your source on the headcount then and let we discuss it.

So is the COP willing to say that there seems to be some kind of bleeding of the COP support now?? or are they saying that people just stayed home and did not go to the rally?
Makes sense. Every minute from now till election day will see a sharp drop-off of COP support. All but the most dedicated are going to contemplate whether it is wise and morally acceptable to split the vote. I fear many more will return to the mother UNC before the night is over.
No matter, PNM will still win.
cm103
11-04-2007, 11:47 AM
If there is a bleeding of the COP support then the PNM are the only ones that stand to gain from that. The majority of people polled and those I have talked to have never voted for Bas and see him as a 'charlatan' as one 80 year old woman so eloquently put it.
Tomorrow will tell.

Cool I agree, I did say Sep 9th had 7,000 to 10,000 that aside
You sticking with 35,000 correct?
We then tell why the party gone from 35,000 to 5,000

I can't answer you that because I was there and it was a hell of a lot more than 5,000. I'm no crowd estimator so I don't know if it was as big as, smaller than, or bigger than September 9th. What I can tell you is it was no small rally and easily into the tens of thousands. How many tens of thousands, I don't know. I'm pretty sure the way things were looking, it might easily have crossed the 35,000 from last time. Get me a more accurate crowd estimate and we'll talk.
I'm not disputing that it was the smallest of the 3 rallies. But when you come here saying 5,000 while I was there in person to see it was far in excess of that with my own eyes...get a better estimate.

The length of time Manning has been there he probably pick up a thing or two
My difference with him is that he lost his grip on reality as a result.

All well and good CM but the fact of the matter is that he will form the next government and that can be a very dangerous thing for ALl of us, as I said before this is not the time for anyone to play fast and lose with this election regardless of your principle stand. We may all be singing another tune in the coming months that is a scary thought, its a pity that big people months ago did not think out all of this.
