View Full Version : Don’t say “if ah de know” on Nov 6th

You have the opportunity on Nov 5th to change the pnm government; while you have the rights to affiliate with any political party you also have the rights to do what is right
And if you are serious about removing the pnm, which party between Cop & UNC really has a realistic chance of winning seats and forming the government? Obvious the UNC!
Did the UNC do a good job while in government? Of-course!
Bottom line is the people of Trinidad & Tobago facing a difficult road ahead, you can sit and do nothing and reek scorn on UNC or you can choose to support UNC and hope they win and turn around the fortune of this country.
I’m sure you have friends and family in Trinidad & Tobago, are you willing to take the risk and left them n the hands of pnm?
When the history of Trinidad & Tobago is written are you willing to sit and tell your grand kids I had a chance to remove the pnm in 2007 but I was so angry with the UNC that I let pnm win?
I’m telling you frankly if the pnm is not remove this time, it is going to take a very long time to remove them, by then Trinidad & Tobago would become like Haiti
Think about it my friends, don’t let if ah de know be your cry on Nov 6th
The worst thing to do is make a decision while you're angry, or act right away to quench your anger’s thirst. Learning to control your aggression now will prevent you from doing something that you'll regret later on in life!
Did the UNC do a good job while in government? Of-course!
with Ministers Ganga and Sadiq !!! Remember when Sadiq was the most popular Minster !!!

Light boy, yuh campaigning hard there.
Answer me this, how a party with such self destructive tendencies could be trusted not to just put we through a 2001-2002 again? The signs on the wall already for that to happen. If we remember the good times then the bad and how they ended must also be in our memory.
Yes the PNM needs to go but let we not replace them with a set that just as bad or we have to be in suspense all the time as to whether they go stay together long enough to actually do something.
1995 and they days gone. Let we deal with 2007 and beyond now.
Don't worry, i won't say that..Bas and RLM placed us in the hands of the PNM...they are the ones saying that right now...they want 'ah chance' again...to do what...just put us where we are right now!!!!!

All I will say friends don’t let hate cloud your judgment
Many people has raised red flags about the danger facing us under Manning, we can cuss Panday & Dook till kingdom come and let Manning win or we can do the right thing….
Whatever you do on Nov 5th will determine your future, this is not about personality this is about saving our country from dictatorship and leaving a legacy for our kids

The Mods really have to give an award to my pardner The Dark.
I have never come across an individual who can not discern that there are somethings FUNDAMENTALLY wrong with the party, sorry, personality cult that he/she supports.
I make no bones about me being a supporter of the PNM but I can also criticize a number of things that I have found wrong with the Party and not look at them with "diamond lenses".
So when you speak of winning an election for the sake of winning I have a problem because the real challenge is in the governance.....and that is where they have a huge problem.
Let me put it another way while I make a plug for a young member of the forum.......The UNC has to make a drastic sea change. They have to purge their leadership after this election...so I say vote Sumana and Mikela in the years to come!
Too late light.....talk to your leader(s) nah...

I believe they are the same khaki pants actually.
Realistically though, it looks like the UNC is setting itself up for another round of infighting after this election. You remember the results of the infighting on the UNC last rounds? Will there be any going back from the PNM after another government turnover?

Mr Dookeran was made leader of the UNC, so that he could be Bas puppet because of Bas's public image being tarnished by his legal issues. For this position Dooks was the perfect candidate - good public image + no back bone.
What Bas did not know was that Dooks was already somebody else's puppet - namely Bhoe Tewarie, Ken Gordon and Author Lok Jack et al. When Bas found out, he was hurt and disappointed that his puppet was horning him (we all know how he feels about Ken G). And he decided to hang on to leadership.
On the other hand When Dooks get exposed he was directed to take his original puppet master's money, order his millions in equipment, wait 4-6 weeks for it to arrive then he went over to form the COP, and await orders from his Master.
On the other hand Patrick, wants to be the Father of the Caribbean and is heavily in bed with the drug lords, hence the reason crime cannot and will never be under control under his Governance. He orchestrated the kidnappings of east Indians to cut them back down to size, after Bas had given them too much power, he used the Jamat to install water tanks and use muscle to help sway the vote in 2001 and 2002 he tried to control his criminals to achieve his objectives, but subsequently lost control - the copy cat kidnappers started to see this as a lucrative business - and crime blossomed. Added to that he is simply not even competent at the things that he is genuinely trying to achieve in education and infrastructure. Also Patsy laundered enough money through the UTT and the new "State Companies" to make the airport bobbol look like lunch money.
Some how when these things are spoken we say das pie in the sky conspiracy theory, but jump at believing any Jack Warner Conspiracy theory regardless how ridiculous it sounds – The Jack Warner theories are probably true but they stand the same chance of being right as the Manning and Dooks theories. Where there is smoke there is usually some fire.
I see one group of losers here - we the hard working, tax paying citizens of T&T who no matter what we do will come out with some sort of shaft from D rear.
Our decision on Monday is all about how big we want the shaft to be –
VOTE PNM or COP = same shaft. – a PNM Govt for the next 5 years increased crime, high food prices low standard of living, total wastage of our oil money
VOTE UNC = Reduced Crime, Better Standard of living – after all the ole talk the UNC cannot thief 10% of D money the PNM waste and thief in the past 6 years, much less the amount they will waste and thief in the next 5 years.
Having said that, I also genuinely believe that the UNC will provide the best and most competent Governance.
They will reduce Crime
Build highways all the way to Cedros and Mayaro - opening up the access to land in areas that weren’t accessible before
They will build on the education initiates
And increase the standard of living drastically
PNM Supporters will do their best to split the opposition vote, at the end of the day, all PNM supporters voting along racial lines – you cyah be voting for the PNM based on their “Competent Track record”
Under all the ole talk on Monday Trini’s will show that we not Stupid – After all his careful, strategic and underhanded planning Manning will lose – Crime will be reduced, and again we will have the best Governance in the History of T&T.

There is nothing wrong with supporting COP but do not vote insensibly.
I have no problem with anyone voting COP in PNM strongholds, because COP has made some massive inroads in there that the UNC could have never dreamed of doing.
However, voting for the COP in a marginal is just being spiteful, because with great certainty you know thats is why they call it a marginal seat, its EXTREMELY tight. UNC has a better chance to win these seats than the COP. Just give it to them. At least the PNM will not have it. And that is what is important.
Make your own history in the PNM strongholds, come out and vote for COP there, even if you don't win these seats at least make them marginal, make the PNM earn their right to be there, scare the living hell out of them.
And finally, if you are thinking about voting for the PNM, you have been mistaken about the date of elections, it is on November 6th and not 5th, so make sure you stay home on the 5th. Everybody else, November 5th.

By voting for politicians we know to have criminal associations, we are condoning the system and giving them legitimacy.
Let's look at hard facts. No matter who wins the election, the powers that be will still be the powers that be: the US embassy, the Syrian drug lords, the Indian challengers. The system here is such that few leaders who are not in the direct or indirect employ of one of the aforementioned can emerge... As for the odd few who start off clean, the closer they get to power the more they realise how powerless they are to frustrate the agenda of the powers that be.
So by selecting a government all we are doing is selecting who will be in charge of the distribution of the scraps from the "high table" to their own friends and family. If you are not friends or family with the politicians, it ain't gonna make much difference to you who wins...
So why waste your time to participate in a joke the sole purpose of which is to maintain the illusion that our leaders are legitimate and that we are not completely powerless.
Look at what we are reduced to - argueing amongst ourselves about which criminals, if we are lucky, might not abuse us as much as another set of criminals... It is truly pitiful...

Before you go out and vote ask yourself this question, can I survive another 5 years under PNM, look your love ones in the face and ask yourself does my love ones deserve another 5 years of PNM,
That little voice deep down in your stomach will give you the answer.

This country cannot take another mash up government election after election to sort it out. Bas want to lead. Jack want to lead. Ramesh like he want to lead. Well Parsi, ah suppose yuh was right. On to 2012. I know we have some differing views about that, but it will be interesting to see how things unfold. Step 1 - the Cabinet and I have my eye on who will be AG. Step 2 - Leader of the Opposition. On a lighter note ah sure yuh didn't have as much fun as me on Saturday. While you was busy runnin down UTT contract, yuh shoulda see the COP ladies. The pictures on this forum was just 1/4 de story. All yuh eh havin nuttin on de COP ladies ;)
The next election could be in 2012 or 3 years 10 months from now.......knowing the old Patos anything is possible
The Cabinet selections make sense for the most part. In the case of Colm Imbert and Martin Joseph they have 18-24 months to oversee to completion the projects that are 45%-55% completed. I expect them to be re-assigned when these are done.
One development has taken place that has been missed by nearly all commentators: the creation of a super ministry with the merging of Planning & Development with Housing. The legislation that enables the Ministry of Planning and Development allows it to acquire lands with something akin to an execuive fiat. Combine this with the Housing ministry then you have an entity that will see a very serious and aggressive push into the re-generation of the housing stock especially in the urban areas.
With regard to the "hot babe index" I was at Aranguez and Tacarigua but not at Woodford Square.....but from what I saw of the pics in the newspapers I think that the COP won this race by miles....in fact I will give it a score.....41-0

Some people in the Alliance were not considering themselves part of the UNC. They were just in UNC not members. So if they had won their seat don't think they wud have stuck around under UNC-A
