Mandela to sue?

It was mentioned tonight on the COP's platform that the Mandela camp plans to sue the UNC "A" for unauthorized use of Mandela's image during their political campaign.

Like all things said on a political platform, it is something to take with a grain of salt and wait and see if there is truth to it. If there is however, I cannot say I would be surprised. My understanding from media reports is the Mandela Foundation insisted a paper be signed making he meeting non-political in nature. According to what I have read, Panday signed it but Warner did not and as such did not meet Mandela.

They then said they had a message from Mandela they would reveal at their final rally. If the media reports about the meeting were correct then legal action by the Mandela Foundation would come as no surprise.

I grew up listening to Dave Elcock in the morning and I really try to live by two of the things that he always said:

1. It takes fewer muscles to laugh than to be enraged.

2. A smile is a frown upside down.

So I try to inject some humour, some picong (not cuss....allyuh hear me JP and Sumana!) and some good old Trini anecdotes.

We can all make this country better and it is my greatest wish that we can get back to some semblance of decency in our public affairs. We have a lot of things to work out but I think we are on the right track.

The more we talk it out and take the time to listen to another person's point of view the better we are. So that is why i like this forum.
