Panday: COP is the enemy

Former prime minister Basdeo Panday has admitted the Congress of the People (COP) poses a danger to the UNC Alliance’s (UNC A) chances of winning the General Election next Monday.
Panday said the COP and not the ruling PNM is the “real enemy” of the UNC A. - "Well you are indeed a rocket scientist to have figured that one out"
Supporters backed up his point by dressing a goat in a COP jersey and paraded the animal at Bonne Aventure Junction in Gasparillo where the UNC A held a public meeting on Sunday night. The goat seemed disoriented from the combination of the clothing on its body, the crowd and spotlights used to illuminate the area. - "Really mature behaviour you guys. This is really going to impress people that you can run this country. I wonder where the animal rights activists are on this one."
Saying the election will be won or lost in the marginal seats, Panday declared : “That is why the Corpse (COP) is so dangerous. That is why they are the real enemy. In the marginal seats, if the Corpse takes 200 or 300 votes, we could lose that to the PNM. That is why the Corpse are traitors to your cause!” - "Whose cause Bas? You sure that it is not your cause? How come everyone who does not agree with you is a traitor? At this rate you are running out of allies really fast. BTW "jailbird" you were going to lose anyway."
As Panday spoke, UNC A supporters held up a cardboard coffin with COP and PNM etched on its sides for him to see. Lamenting that the UNC A was “blue in the face” from appealing to the COP to join them, Panday pleaded with supporters, “You can take this government but you need to promise me something here tonight. That on the 5th of November, you are not to going to divide your votes!” - "Thank God for Knife and Fork Indians! At least they can think for themselves.....a very scary notion huh Bas?"
A bit overexcited, Panday at one time mistakenly said the election was on May fifth, bringing to mind another faux pas he made during the 2002 General Election campaign when he told supporters at a meeting at the nearby Gasparillo Junction, to “put your X by the balisier.” - "I always knew Bas was a closet PNM."
Panday’s speech was interrupted by heavy showers which had supporters scampering for shelter as orange confetti washed away. - "To wash away the rubbish you spew every night."
Earlier, Chaguanas Mayor Suruj Rambachan tried to entice members of the security forces, who will cast their ballots as special voters this week, and promised a $1 million payout to the families of officers killed in the line of duty, if the UNC A is elected. - "Yeah the police are really getting gunned down on a nightly basis and not the citizens!"
“We are inviting the security forces in the country to listen to us because we are the only government that has gone so far to protect the interests of the security forces,” said Rambachan. Sanatan Dharma Maha Sabha executive member Pundit Jaggernath Siewram Maharaj also made an appeal to Hindus and said pundits “support the UNC A by the hundreds.” No reason was given by UNC A officials for the absence of candidates Kamla Persad-Bissessar (Siparia), Mikela Panday (Oropouche West) Subhas Panday ( Princes Town North) and Wade Mark (Pointe-a-Pierre) who were billed to speak at Sunday’s meeting. - "They were probably home taking Advil or something because not even they could really take on the nonsense anymore"
Of course COP is the real enemy...who else they will fight for opposition...they don't even talk abt PNM no more...

Now the UNCA and the COP are running ads saying that the other party is going to split the vote allowing the PNM to win. So as far as I am concerned they are making the case for their defeat before Monday night.

But Dookeran was a part and parcel of the political party [NAR] whose supporters were doing that, and he never rebuked them, so if it was good for the PNM then, it should be good for them now! Always remember what goes around comes around.

Yes you did post an article written by Mr. Panday in response to my question. Unfortunately I personally do not hold the author in very high regard at the moment which stems from a number of incidents that you seem to be oblivious to. One recent one being the 'fruitful' trip to SA.
If Bas get in power again I wouldn't doubt if he still go through with the secret constitution and take the Executive Presidency for himself. he go prob broker a deal with Manning to get that as usual.
If yuh boy Jairag so 'fraid then let him go to the police with his concerns or hire security. You could hold he hand if you want as well.
like U Ent C d light as yet boy....vote in yuh PNM part 2 come d 5th....then watch Bas shame this country again and Jack rape the Treasury.

Sometimes the sounds of silence are the loudest! Indeed, the fact that the COP ended up with no seats speaks volumes about the politics of T&T.
