But wht example the govt does set when they take reserve state lands and dereserve it and give it to the squatters.

that's a good idea..i inherited my house so i did not have much say in the design, but i intend to do some major extension/renovation...but bldg materials too expensive now..

The price of cement and steel went up abt 2wks again.
Its becoming very expensive to build to.

My opinion:

Buy a plot of land. Make sure you would be able to get planning permission for a house. Then design a house, get planning permission and Building Regs approvals. Then build what you could afford. You could always add to it later. Or you could start with a small house - maybe two bedrooms and extend later.

the thing is ah have a piece ah land which is agri land but the other thing is all the rest ah land around it have houses on it ...ah send it de application last year June they lost it ..then ah reapply now they say how may application only come in de other day and how they backlog and anyways the person who have to see about that area on holidayz...this person must be aint take holidays since he working because is over 6 months ah hearing dat....by the time ah get the approval providing ah do get it ah go cyar afford to build because ah might reach retirement age and so cyar get ah loan.

scrunter, you hire a professional to sort it out for you or you trying to do it yourself? If you trying to do it yourself, you have to make sure you get the name of the person who dealing with it. But it is much better to get somebody who on the spot to deal with it.

Yea thts wht am looking at land but still I ent finding anything under $100 000.
And this is not in places like gulf view and thing I looking at eh. In gulf view I see they asking $500 000 for a lot of land and palmiste is $85/sq ft.
