View Full Version : As a party supporter, can you directly respond to criticism?

I've been reading the threads on this board for the last few days and marveling at the inability of some posters to directly address criticism aimed at the party they support.

Someone brings up an obviously corrupt act or negative statement made by Politician A, and his supporters automatically respond with, "What I want to know is XYZ about Politician B!?!?"

Or someone will voice their dissatisfaction with something that Political Leader A allegedly did, and without even bothering to defend, deny or justify the alleged act, some zealot will jump on the case of another Political Leader.

So I'm curious, and I was wondering whether the party supporters would respond. I'm loyal to no party, so either answer the questions or come up with something real amusing to digress into.

- Firstly, do you accept that your political leader and members of your party have committed corrupt and/or regressive acts?
- Does that at all bother you, or do you see your support of them as some sort of "lesser of evils" situation?
- Have you ever really sat down and honestly contemplated the negative aspects of your political leader or party of choice?
- Is the hyperbole, irrationality and zealotry some sort of coping device to drown out reasonable discourse, or do you honestly believe the claims you create/regurgitate?

Finally, and most importantly...

- Do you honestly think that any politician gives a f*ck about you?

I know people does accuse Dookeran/Ganga/Baksh but when I ask for details for the accusers they does tell me to go find out for myself

I still waiting for one of the accusers to tell me exactly what Summit Finance was.

yeah.

AFAIK i've never engaged in "hyperbole, irrationality and zealotry ". If someone can find an example of that , I'll answer.

not really. Lately I've been telling fellow COpers that if COP was serious then its wealthier candidates/members would be dipping into thier own funds. I'll still vote for them but ....
