The Sadhus of India are the spiritual Creme de la Creme of Hindu society. They may reflect the yearnings of most of us who may not be humble enough to follow such a life-style.
All that is considered good, bad and ugly have their place in Hindu society. Anyone who cares to understand this simple fact of life, also cares to understand the oneness of life and its inter-play as the many.
Life is but an illusion of the imperfect on the perfect. Without one, the other has no real meaning. It is also through the darshan or epiphany of the good, bad and ugly that one gets ripened for enlightenment as the eternal witness.
The Sadhus or living saints of India provide Hindus with inspiration for selfless service, and they remain the power behind sacrifice and penance that result in the enlightenment of man.
Say what you may, but without the full support of all Hindus to the Sadhus for their sacrifice and penance, the formless God may not take human form in a hurry.
The link below provides some most beautiful glimpses of the Sadhus of India. Hopefully, some of us will be inspired to join them some day, as we learn to appreciate the sacrifices that they make.
