Apple IIe-the early days of the mouse-before IBM got it. I also had a IBM with a 088 processor and a laptop that was about 18" square-it was like a briefcase-can not remember the brand. For the young ones-you ran everything form the dot prompt and had to type in the .exe commands to activate the program. Those were the days.
But I also go back to punch cards on an IBM 360 at University.
It is amazing what young people take for granted without understanding the history of the devices that they have to-day.

Welcome to ttonliine stepolonez
I moved the thread to Technology where this kind of discussion belongs.
My first real computer experience would have been on the old Macintosh Plus at my primary school. It had a lab full of them. My dad also occasionally brought home a PC from work that ran on DOS and had two 5 1/4" floppy drives. I used to play frogger and other such games on it more than anything else. :D
Eventually he bought an IBM Aptiva with a 66MHz Cyrix 486 processor, 8MB RAM, 1MB video RAM, both a 3 1/4" floppy and a CDROM drive and running Windows 3.1. It was blazing fast - lol for its time it was top of the line. That would be my first real computer at my disposal and my obsession ran from there.
Actually, I spent most of the time on that computer playing Disney Interactive's Stunt Island and Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe (from LucasFilm Games before they became known as LucasArts). After a RAM upgrade and Windows 95 installation I started playing the original The Need For Speed on it. :bounce:

My first computer was this one in 2002:three (3) motherboards later and she's still here.
It came pre-loaded with a lot of games but my only interest was dial-up Internet access...
I use this more than the laptop...memories...
I don't remember a time when I didn't have a computer.
I need a ::smug:: icon. Right here, right now. =\

The first time I ever used a PC was in high school - they had several Macintosh PCs for those who took the Basic programming class. My parents got a PC for the family back in '95 that ran Win95 on a 66MHz Original Pentium with 32MB Ram and a 1GB hard drive.
Not long after that, I bought my first PC which ran a 100MHz Pentium MMX with 64MB Ram and a 4GB hard drive. It had integrated graphics and I can even remember that the maximum shared memory allowed by the Bios was 32MB.
I first used the Internet the week I got my PC. I had actually applied for dial-up before I bought the PC, and on my first day online I got my first email account from Hotmail. I actually still have that account right now.
My, how time flies!
Lol, my fist one was from Hp and only had a 1;2 GB harddrive. That was in 1995. Internet connection was only dial-up back then. The bad old days.

My first computer was an IBM PC Junior, around 1985 or 1986, ah cyar remember to good, but it was in the late 80s. My wife worked with IBM back then and they were selling them cheap to the staff.
That model was discontinued about 2 months later.
No wonder de stinkers and them sold it so cheaply.

first time i used a computer was back in high school. dont know the model or specs, but i think it was apple. we did qbasic prog. on them (ran on dos)- the ones where all the characters on the screen was green. the first one i owned was in 2002- a dell 4550, 256 ram, 2.4 GHz proc, 80G Hd- was fast in those days.
the first time i went online was at uwi compt lab in 1997, with their dial up connection. we only got like half an hour on the net, and had to wait about 5 mins for a page to load lol.

I first used a computer in 1973-74 in University when the input was via punch cards in a course called Introduction to Computers when we learned about binary coded decimal and lateral thinking-the real early days. Took 42 cards to add two numbers. Prior to that we had a very complicated calculator at a Bank I worked at that was the size of a small desk-and that was a sophisticated computer in those days.
When was the 1st time allyuh went online?
probably end of 1998
first time I used a computer was around 1989 when I did a short course in programming
some time after that I used my bro's pc for playing Doom.. that used to be fun

Memories flooding back here. An IBM Aptiva with a 486-33 Intel proc with 4MB of memory and a 384MB hard drive and a 2x CD-ROM. I remember thinking I would never fill that amount of space and then 4 months later Win 95 was announced.
The only CD that came with that machine was MS Encarta. Lotus, Win 3.1 came on stacks of floppies.
