I'll go with Ambi cause he had the ball and his emotions under control....looked cooler.
the one with Ambro, he didn't make much of an effort to catch the ball, it landed right back into his hands. The one with Simmo however, Salim had to move to catch the ball.
I'd go with the one with Simmo.

Both very entertaining, I looked at the Amborse one first, and I thought the Salim one couldn't possibly be as good, until I saw it.
I think I prefer the Salim one :D

Ambrose one because he played for it, he knew exactly where to position himself, for me 1st vid wins.
Ambrose best bowler ever.

Also the ambrose catch was much harded b.c it was hit with some venom. And the catch itself was a thing of beauty, it looked so effortless... amazing.

That doesn't matter. I'm not entirely schooled in cricket. I have only a basic concept of the game.
But I can appreciate a good catch of a ball. And for me the second one, with Salim, takes win.
In the first video the ball was hit directly at the bowler. As hard as that ball was hit it was a very good catch.
But in the second vid the bowler was moving in the opposite direction to the ball and reached back, changing his pace and direction, to catch it.
That, to me, makes it a more difficult catch, therefore a better catch.

No, Ambrose played for that catch, positioned himself for it, he really made his catch look easy.
It's always difficult to deal with a ball coming directly at you with pace, his catch was hit with alot more venom than the second. Sorry but... second vid fail.

It's difficult for me to select one over the other. Both were superb catches. I don't think one is better than the other.

I think after having played the game, one must give the prize to Ambi.
Whether he played for it or not, he didnt know for sure it was coming his way. So the catch was reactionary and there was no room for flinching else he'd have a hole drilled in his belly. The brain was engaged very very late on in the first catch. So he catches it, and still doesnt lose his cool. NAtural talent.
Malik had to use his reflexes differently. Not less skilfully, just differently. His brain 'saw' the catch, and made moves honed over years and years of practice, to try and catch it- the hands closed at the correct moment. But brain was firing long time, and he lose his poise afterwards anyhow so that gave it away.......
Having taken both of the above catches, the first one gives a real deep sense of achievement. The second one is short term, temporary high.....like instant coffee.........
Guyguy yuh reah doh hurt from sittin on dat fence? Stewwwps man is not ah life and death decision............. [smilie=ireful2.gif]

Guyguy yuh reah doh hurt from sittin on dat fence? Stewwwps man is not ah life and death decision............. [smilie=ireful2.gif]Boy, ent you know that every catch is unique? I'm certain that, like me, you've taken catches that in retrospect, were impossible. How then can one select one over the other regardless of your analysis?
Think of the catches you've dropped that were lollies then those that you took that were real zingers. I once took 6 catches in a single innings fielding at short leg and every one was different even though my thinking was that every ball the batsmen played would be coming to me.

yadda yadda yadda, now which one?!?Neither. Which one of your children do you love more? Get it?
PS: Never dropped a dolly- I told you I'm serious with this thing. Then you're far better at cricket than me because I've dropped some really easy ones during my playing days. Since you're still playing, your time will come too and I hope you're man enough to let us know - even though we'll laugh and at the same time, be sympathetic and understanding. :D :D :D

Guy you go frustrate Falcon whole night.
Asking him to choose them catches is like asking him if he want WI to win a match with Chanderpaul scoring the winning run. The man will be torn between 2 lovers.

As convention goes, since the clips were in that order, it would only be correct to list them as they were displayed. Therefore, even if the clips were reversed, they'd still be listed as Excellent #1 & Excellent #2. :D :D :D

Oh Goooorm guyguy...jess tell de man which catch mo' excellent nah! [smilie=dash2.gif]
Being someone with a similar frame to Ambrose with long arms, for me it is always easier to stretch for catches to take them away from the body than having to use your shoulders and elbows to push your hands to take the closer in-body catches.
I used to feild at point or in the covers or 3rd slip.
I would rate the Ambrose catch the more challenging one as compared to the Salim one away from the body mainly due to anatomy.
