Against it
TNT have put themselves in a sticky situation drawing two games they should of got maximum points from to ensure a somewhat realistic chance of a birth in 2010 WC in South Africa.
The Soca Warriors now face the three top teams in the region in search of the 18pts needed for automatic qualification.
Here at TTonline we discuss the next game which features powerhouse USA against the warriors without their influential captain, Dwight Yorke but will welcome back The White Knight, Christopher Birchall.
No weak teams
There is no weak teams in the final hex, most of you will agree to qualify we must beat a big team along the way. No one will be expecting a win in Nashville where you won't find many islanders, USA did their homework well. The warriors will not be faced with a hostile environment in USA but will be under alot of pressure playing against their biggest rivals.
TNTNT needs to give thier fans something to cheer about since both lackluster performances have them settled in fifth position after two matches.
Concerns
My primary concern is the ability to deal with set plays, like I said before teams almost never score on us in the run of play, we concede to many goals from corners and free kicks, this needs addressing. Our ball movement out of the back is still shaky, we don't have flowing football like we saw in Germany.

The game will be live on ESPN 2 [20:00 TT time]
Radio (In TT) : 91.1FM, 95.5fm, 102.1fm
Online Radio: http://www.ctntworld.com/livestream/index.html
The US plays with a high back 4.
Without Yorke, I suspect we will be playing the long ball game. Hence we will need an attacker with lots of speed and good strenght to beat that offside trap and to win balls in the air. Swansea plays that type of football so it would be better to play with Scotland as the lone striker and allow Lawerence to play a more roaming role due to height. Cornell Glen would be valuable too (as a substitute after Scotland runs out of fuel).
If Stern gets the nod, then he will have to be very cautious about making runs to avoid being offside.
I suggest we play a 4-5-1 formation with Birchall being the link between the 4 midfielders and the 4 defenders. He is the only man with the stamina to play that sweeping role.
I'm hoping for 0-0 (since it has been ages since we've scored on US soil).

If I am not mistaken, the last time TNT got a result in USA was in 1989 when the strike squad drew 1-1 in a WC Qualifying game.
I would of liked to see Glenn against Honduras certainly over Scotland. Jason had shots on target but never really looked like scoring, he did track back to help the midfield thou. Don't count Stern John out guys, he still has the ambition to make amends for his penalty miss against El Salvador, I believe in him and when he scores it's always a beautiful goal.
The service will be very important for TNT versus the USA, I suspect a hard midfield battle with Birchall and Carlos up against Dempsey and Masterano.
USA will try to score early against TNT, it has worked for them in the past and they will try to get the crowd behind the team early. TNT must remain solid at the back to have any chance of getting a positive result in this very important WC Qualifying game.
What the experts (Derek Rae, Tommy Smyth, Janusz Michallik, Shaka Hislop) say in the preview of the USA vs TT game:

^ Ok, I don't like that fat bald guy's comment that there's another 3 points coming fro the USA. Also, why didn't Shaka correct the guy who said that TNT has never taken a point on the road against the USA ?
I thought Shaka would have pulled up Tommy Smyth's socks after that comment but he let it slip [Hutson Charles rescued a point with a late equalizer in the Italia '90 campaign].

Allyuh help me out here. I didn't watch the game last night. As soon as I see the team come out last night, I tell mih wife leh we goh in the gym. I was hoping that the little boy whose hand Stern John was holding was starting for T&T.
Ah see this report in the MLS news.
Altidore, who hasn't played a minute for his club team this season, struck in the 13th, 71st and 89th minutes as the U.S. (2-0-1, seven points) maintained its lead atop the CONCACAF final hexagonal. Trinidad (0-1-2, two points) suffered its first loss.
Then ah see this picture from the Front Page of the Trinidad and Tobago Guardian:
April2%20pg1.png[/attachment:1739040s]
So ah 19 year old black boy score ah hattrick for the USA, but the Guardian see a receding hairline white fella.

Clayton Ince really looked pathetic. However not as pathetic as the goalie from Argentina where
Bolivia gave them 6-1.......And Argentina's first team was playing(Messi and Tevez),not like when
Trinidad beat USA bench last year in TnT......Ent?.......TnT has Costa Rica on 6 June and then
Honduras after that, and both ah dem teams have plenty momentum.......After the USA defeat
3-0........I don't think that Soca Warriors going to South Africa WC 2010.Not with Ince as the
goalie.....after the third goal by Jozy Altidore........Ince had a "frightened look" on his face as he
sat on the field..........and the coach Francisco Mata"run"a........better run........because he is done.............and Carlos Edwards doing his best.........and Stern John "plenty tired".......and.....
I gone yes..............ENT?_Front.jpg...........And as where the guardian gets their
"swagger"........their "Bold and the Boldface" attitude......GUARDIAN is on top of "his" head...ent?

http://guardian.co.tt/sports/football/2009/04/03/tt-party-after-defeat-fans-consider-boycott
What made this interesting was that it started at around 11 pm in downtown Nashville and finished at approximately 2.30 pm with several T&T players who waltzed their way on the Tennessee Titan football service previously, now wining and jamming with their T&T supporters.
So why, one may ask, should the players be concerned about their performers on Wednesday night? Their fans are happy enough to dance and drink the night away with them. Some fans even purchased drinks for players as a means of appreciation as if the players were not erratic enough on the field that night. Is it any wonder then, why we can lose a match and still be joyous rather than sullen and reflective as a people.
Some say the organisers of this past game/lime/dance saw an opportunity and exploited it. Others claim the organisers understood the T&T psyche better than our footballers, and gave the fans both entertainment and merriment at the same time. I was confronted by several justifiable irate fans, who expressed their disappointment. Some remarked that the T&T players in their eagerness to leave the playing service, forgot to salute the T&T supporters, who travelled from New York, Miami, Atlanta, Cincinnati, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Canada and Trinidad and Tobago.

the usa outshustled t&t, the warriors played like they were nervous all night, and that 'receding hairline white fella' could teach the socaboys about hustle and intesity.
