Listen to the Scottish FA chief:

In May, McBeth claimed "poor nations" in Africa have different ethics from the British "fair play" attitude. McBeth is alleged to have said: "As soon as you hit Africa, it's a slightly different kettle of fish. They're poor nations and want to grab what they can. `I know two or three whom I'd want to count my fingers after shaking hands with them. I presume the Caribbean is much the same-they just come at it in a different way."

The agenda-driven Express author, even erroneously states that Mcbeth 'allegedly' said so and so. I looked at the show last night. He said it clear as day.

Based on a sporting situation, but representative of the views that STILL exist in the politically correct, ultramodern halls of the EU.

So you see, when everyone is busy fighting each other and tearing our own society down, the world just laughs, piggybacks onto a convenient side of the argument, and furthers its own agendas. We just happily go along with the foreigners' views of our own nationals, because in that case, it suits our needs.
We leave the damage for future generations to deal with, because solutions seem so far away.

Falcon, break ity down for me, where 'black' come in this? From reading the article it seems something along the line of 'third world corruption' might have been more applicable.

Sorry, I should have explained the program in more detail.
The person singled out two confederations, and their heads, and then went into some cultural aspects of those places. There are other confederations in the third world too you know, one fronted by a past Brazilian fball president who would top ANY investigation into corruption into football. So it AINT no thrid world business.
I will try and get the link for you to have a look at the show if you'd like.

My comments are going to be held in check here cause we all have gone through this time and time again, just with different headings to the threads.

Most people black, white, asian, latino...see "us" as inept, corrupt, and lacking intellect and morals. Most do but some don't! Most will have these views and meet one or two of "us" and gain some insight into what we really are like and change their views but you will have them that will cling to the negative no matter what positives are put out there for one and all to see.

"We" have so much going for us but even I, when reading the newspapers on a daily basis, feel as if life is just going further downhill in the ethics, morals and empathy department in "our" little part of the world. What can we really do to change the way things are turning in trinidad and tobago? How can we stop the spiral downwards?

Are we the new Sodom and Gommorah?

Hmmm...
Once again, I dont think its an issue of race. Is just certain countries have that reputation and not all those countries are 'black'.
Surely u will not dispute that some of the poor countries in Africa are renown for their corruption. Nigeria, I think is one of them.
Then there is India, where we know corruption among the police is rampant. Indian businessmen have also been known to be schemers.
And there's clearly the Caribbean where in Tdad for example, corruption is a well-known and accepted feature of governance.

The world's view of black, in my opinion, is usually based on whats reflected by Hollywood and it's good and bad. There's the world leaders and the celebs and the preachers and then there's the hoodlums and the ghetto folk. I mean, u know how many ppl worship Oprah?!

Ahhh... there it is, the inevitable 'where did we go wrong' lament.
Where u went wrong Falcon, is to take the views of one individual, and term it the world's viwe.

I agree I also think that we have a part to play in it as well. For example, my friend Rodney moved to the uk and started dating this septagenarian orignally from Russia but now permanently living in London. She is a very nice woman, weak when it comes to men but really really nice. She has a daughter with her husband and he is black. My point is she reallllll like de chocolate brothers...but when I sat talking to her one day about Trinidad and about life growing up with Rodney and other friends, I happened to mention the zoo. She stopped me in my tracks and asked "Trinidad has a zoo?" I was like...ummm yeah! I not offended by the fact that she didn't think we did have one but that we could have one. Then the stereotypes started to come out in her questions about us living on beaches and all that rubbish...I set her straight and I am not mad at her. But I was sooooooooooooooo mad at Rodney cause he never saw it relevant to defend or describe or even discuss his own birth place. He so ashamed of it! Telling me oh how he sure when he ride he bicycle through Brixton they must take him for a Public School boy or some rich Actor. I was flabbergasted! This loser from St. Joseph acting the idiot in some foreign country just cause he shamed.

It all starts with us. Period. We do bad it reflects we do and talk good it also is a reflection. We have choices to make so what do you choose?

Serenity, when you interact with more and more people in your future travels, you will see why I can say that this man's views are very representative of views from Europe, on an administrative level. Other than that, I am just fighting semantics from clever suits who know just how cloaked to make their remarks.

So Falcon u want us to look between the lines and speculate what the man mean and not just what he say?

Lets forget him then, bec I eh know him well enough to agree or disagree with u. From your experiences, Europeans have this general view that blacks and corruption go hand in hand?

Yes! As you so rightly pointed out...Nigerians come here with their scams, they have Trident Team that only deals with black on black crime and a whole host of other rubbish things over here in the UK alone. I doh know bout Falcs but when I read the newspape I can tell when is white on white crime and when it's any other race. The whites kill each other they never mention the race of the either the victim or attacker, but as soon as a black person dies or kills is their race, religion and area where they live is put into the newspapers. How many dead lil black/asian kids you never hear about? How many kidnapped and traumaised families in this race group? Is because this country politely biased. Call it what yuh will they maybe racist or just misinformed.

Stop and Search affects mostly the black or asian communities even though on a nightly basis they tv programmes like the uk equivalent to Cops show only whites getting drunk and going to jail. Go figure! De man who talk he mind was just a tip of the iceberg over here. :|
