Can someone share a nice pholourie recipe please? I see there are some recipes that require grind dhal and some dont. I can't get grind dhal here. I can get gram flour which is channa dhal, but the taste is slightly different and I don't particularly like it. Or maybe suggest how to make my own grind dhal? If I grind some dry dhal in the coffee grinder till its a fine powder, will that be ok or do they have a special process?
A nice chutney recipe to go with it will be appreciated too. :)
thanks in advance.

Honey...Roti Joupa :D eheheheh ah bad eh...
Use chick pea or split pea flour, mix with water and yeast and let that rest. It's the simplest one, but it should work.
After it's risen and sticky, put small dallops in hot veg oil and there ya go!

Chutney...my favourite kind of chutney is grated mango chutney.
Green mangoes (good luck!) grated finely, add garlic, salt, pepper, lime juice, chopped corriander leaves and mix. Or to make life easy, add all ingredients into a food processor and blend.

travelbug....erm over 3hrs from here to Roti Joupa! So YES yuh  bad!!! But next time I in London will be sure to pay them a visit! Till then I looking to make my own. I don't like the taste of the chick pea flour (aka gram flour). Gosh it won't be till weekend till I can see if I can get mango. If I don't get mango, it will be tamarind chutney. Daaaaaaaamn my mouth watering thinking about it!
