I miss Trinidad so much when its phagwa.
What are your plans this year?
Anyone sings chowtal?

I used to sing with a Chowtal group. we would tour from south to north singing chowtal at all the phagwa grounds within our route, from morning to sunset with barrrels of abir and we pichkari. Those were some really good experiances.

Hope I'm much better to be there! The kids would love to come, infact they are excited about seeing the flyer :D . I injured myself on the job last Friday morning and I am now under chiropractor's care.

Glad to see that there are some folks out there who love Phagwa... I can recommend listening to Radio Jaagriti for live coverage of the chowtal groups who would be performing for Holika Burning on Tuesday 10th March..... My school would also be performing...Vishnu Boys Hindu College Chowtal Group........look out for us!!! You guys can also call in Radio Jaagriti and request Holi Khile Raghubeera or Panaghat Na Jaown sung by myself, Dilip Maharaj.......

So we went to the Phagwa Mela. It was the best since they started three years ago. Smaller crowd but it was a blast. The chowtal group from New York was simply excellent, I did not get enough. I could have enjoyed them alone all evening. This year I personally wish to commend the representative from the Trinidad and Tobago High Commission for her SHORT AND SWEET ADDRESS.... ah lil mispronunciation here and there but sweet all de same, quite a difference from the very first. Well done Ms_________ ( Ah can't say she name without saying it incorrect so I would refrain ). The organizers did a good job, however, they should stick to time - 6:00 mean 6:00 and not otherwise. The children are certainly talented, well rounded, did a good job and had a blast ( I am still choking from all that powder :D ) .

Some of you already met her and I am sure that you would agree that MIVO is quite a very nice 'down to earth' lady. Yes we met and her daughter too. I am sure that we'll be good friends from now on. Nice meeting you Mivs'!
