Most of Stephen Kings novels to movies...rubbbbbbbbbbish! Only Misery and I think maybe Pet Semetary but definitely Green Mile were the best ever...oh and Shawshank Redemption (even though it was a short story) umm the one with Jack Nicholson (fuhget de darn name) and It... Queen of the Damned was sooooooooo not transposed well. Ruin de book for me.

Shooter I read some of the novel before the film came out with Mark Wahlberg...movie was condensed version but it was still good.

Harry Potters were great going except when ah see Hargrid...yuh wud think with all de CGs they have today they could have make Hargrid look like the giant he was supposed to be? steuwpseeeee.

Cyah think of any more at the moment.

"The lion, the witch and the wardrobe" didn't work too well. Parts were okay and Aslan looked great but the story didn't seem all that convincing.

OMFG!!!..i totally agree with you!!!..that was the worst ever!!..it was a combination of the second book, The Vampire Lestat, and the third book, The Queen of the Damned, and it totally sucked! Although I liked Aaliyah's dance when she rips out that vampires's heart, that was nice.. :D, even though Akasha was not African in the book, she was orignally a princess from a city in modern day Iraq.

this is what she should have looked like(or at least something close to it): http://deadviolet.files.wordpress.com/2007/06/00108559_000.jpg

Jack Nicholson? You must be talking about "The Shining".

yeah, I was thanks Breadwinner. I don't think it was really scary as people make it out to be. It keeps topping polls as the scariest movie ever and I really dont agree. The book was marvellous though.

"Jurasic Park" was good as a book and the film. "The Colour purple" was too, nice one Midnight. Yep KFS, "Misery", "The Green Mile" and "Pet Cemetary" was good.

Triniboy, how Akasha looked didn't bother me. I don't recall any mention in the book of her being from Iraq, in any case both Iraq and Eygypt have a wide range of peoples. It's not impossible to find a chocolate skinned person with curly or kinky/afro hair. it's also not impossible to have white skinned light eyed people either.

The effects were great considering how they cuddah make it look fake and dohtish and I do agree about them not putting everything in but u can imagine how much longer the movies would have been? It would have been Harry Potter Prisoner of Azkahban part 9 kinda thing dread. But certain things do not translate well onto screen...hence why we use our vivid and colorful imaginations to make books come alive.

I loveeeeeeeee reading.

KFS,

what did Belmont do you?

"Bram Stoker's Dracula", the movie is not to bad. "Eragon" the movie wasn't good. The book is simple, enjoyable even though it is not original. The only problem I had was referring to the hero as a young boy. Since when is 16/17 a young boy  I'm sure that actor was 19 at least. If emphasis is put on young that'd be 10 and under.

Anyone read the Hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy before it went to Screen?

Terry Pratchetts hogfather book was complicated but enjoyable so the movie was not as well made I hope they don't give up on him though.

I read it a few years ago....didnt think it was good...the movie was also ok...not my usual style.

I read memoirs of a geisha years ago also....and the movie did not do it any justice.
